Says no going back as they are fully ready

The Ijaw People’s Development Initiative has asked Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele To Give Stewardship of alleged N1.98Billion Allocation, 250Million Paris Club Funds Accrued To Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State under his watch in 2019.
The group through its BoT chairman, Cletus Itari said despite the huge fund accrued to Burutu LGA, there is no people oriented project in the LGA that worth any form of development that is comensurable with even N70 million so far since his administration.
They added that the councillors lodge which happened to be the capital project does not worth 50million and that the chairman should tell Burutu people the whereabouts of the remaining money.
Mr. Itari said inspite Burutu receiving direct allocation from the Federal government, there had not been any improvement in the scheme of things in the LGA as the local government headquater still wallow in darkness.
The group also accused Angele of misappropriation of N250million Paris club funds received by the LGA in 2019 and that he should state the projects he spent the money on.
Mr. Itari said despite Burutu receiving such huge fund, there was no reasonable project across the 11 Federal wards that constitutes the council.
The group described Angele as being callous for failing to provide pallatives for Burutu people despite the economic hardship in the LGA as regards the covid-19 pandemic economic lockdown in the country.
They stressed that from December 2019 to August 2020 more than a billion naira has accrued to the council and there is no commensurable development in the Local Government Area, stressing that Angele remains one of the worse local government chairman that has ever ruled the Local Government Area since its creation.
The group insisted that Angele must give stewardship on how Burutu people money was spent.
They called on well meaning Burutu stakeholders to join the group to asked Mr. Angele to return every misappropriated fund that belongs to the Burutu people without further delay.
Meanwhile, IPDI had vowed that there is no going back on their resurfaced stance in demanding for accountability from Angele and his strange leadership in Burutu, adding that they are fully ready to bring to the media the alleged incompetence of the Burutu Council Chairman, maintaining that they will be taking both legal steps to demand justice for the Burutu people.
The group had also called on the attention of the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to be aware that the people of Burutu Local Government Area are suffering miserably in the hands of Angele, stating that not even a functional portable water has been erected in Burutu for the people.
