Youths of Opuama federated communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State under the umbrella of Opuama Youths Assembly (OYA), Warri branch have affirmed the decision of Opuama community to return Alhaji E.O. Omoko as president, Opuama Welfare Association (OWA) for another four year tenure.
This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by the trio of Felix Gorroh, Mr. Ezekiel Ugulapelewei and Shola K. Korokoro, President, secretary and PRO of the association and made available to newsmen in Warri a copy of which was obtained by The Liberator Newspapers on Friday.
They described the decision to return Omoko as a wise one that has already been endorsed by the chiefs, elders women and youth groups across the Opuama federated communities.
They noted that Omoko performed credibly well in the office with numerous projects which include women and youth empowerment as well as Infrastructural development.
They said “We the entire executive members of Opuama Youth Assembly unanimously agreed to re-affirm/ support the decision of council of elders, chiefs, women and youths of Opuama federated communities on the 27 Dec 2020 of returning Alhaji E. O. Omoko for another four year tenure effect from 2021-2025 as President Opuama Welfare Association”.
“We the Opuama Youth Assembly are pleased/ satisfied and built confidence in Alhaji E. O. Omoko style of leadership in terms of human capital development, empowerment: elders, youths women welfare.
They listed other projects executed by the Omoko led executive to include “Community infrastructural development, cottage hospital fully equipped with modern facilities, pipe born water, electricity, scholarship scheme (secondary and tertiary) vocational training for young men and women annually.”
They maintained that they remain thankful to the elders and chiefs of the federated community for their “brilliant, sharp and courageous” steps in endorsing Omoko for another tenure.
The group particularly described the endorsement of the revered Niger Delta leader, Omoko as a step in the right direction, stressing that having someone like Omoko in Opuama, Egbema Kingdom is a rare blessing to the people, adding that they are always proud of him and his sterling leadership qualities for his decades of meritorious services to the people.
