In what has been described by educational pundits as a rare gesture, the Oweilaemi Foundation (OF) has splashed hundreds of thousands of naira on teenagers within the Niger Delta creeks in a bid to get them to secondary school. The Liberator Newspapers can report.
Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Barr. Pereotubo Oweilaemi, former president of the revered Ijaw Youth Council (IYC ) Worldwide explained that the foundation has been on the move to award the said scholarship to the students since 2020.
The renowned Niger Delta advocate of good governance and philanthropist hinted The Liberator Newspapers that the lucky students that got the scholarship from the Oweilaemi Foundation include Miss Pere-ere Ebimobowei and Master Macbeth High-Man both of whom are from the creeks of Niger Delta.
In hinting our reporter on the development, the Niger Delta social crusader maintained that the foundation did not only gave out scholarship to the lucky students, stressing that it was the foundation that secured their admission, paid for their hostel accommodation, payment of their school fees, books, feeding and other necessary things regarding their education in the school have all been taken care of by the foundation.
The former IYC President noted that while the process of securing the scholarship for the students started in 2020 through the foundation’s consultants, he maintained that Miss Pere-ere Ebimobowei and Master Macbeth High-Man among others were subjected to aptitude test by the Oweilaemi Foundation were the duo emerged highest in their scores thereby beating others in the aptitude test.
With joy all over his face, Barr. Oweilaemi said he is thankful to the Lord Almighty for using him as a vehicle to put smiles on the faces of the two teenagers and their parents, adding that as long as God keeps blessing him, he will never renege via his foundation in doing good to the needy in the society.
Meanwhile, parents of the kids had particularly prayed for the Lord Almighty to continue to bless Barr. Oweilaemi and his foundation financially for him to have the strength to reach out to more people in the creeks, adding that they will always be grateful and be hugely indebted to the foundation and its president, Barr Oweilaemi.
The parents continued that the kind and rare gesture exibited by the Oweilaemi Foundation towards their children have brought so much relief to them, opining that they deeply appreciate it from the deepest part of their hearts, stressing that Oweilaemi has lifted a huge financial burden off their shoulders.

“Our focus as NGO is to give succor to the needy in the areas of encouraging/supporting education particularly for students from the rremote creeks in the Niger Delta. We provide medicals, food and clothings not limited to for the aged.
“The process of securing admission and subsequent award of the scholarship to these beneficiaries started since last year through our consultants. The students were sent for the aptitude test. This is the first time the parents and the students themselves are meeting with me as the President/CEO of Oweilaemi Foundation. Both the parents and the kids were full of joy that God used me to locate them in the creeks to give them scholarship. They prayed for the management of our foundation for God’s blessings for us to do more”
