Mr. Jude Gbaboyor Akpodubakaye

The party leader therefore called on Ijaws, Urhobos, Kwales, Ikas, Aniochas, Ndo-Oshimilis, Itsekiris, Isokos, including non indigenes in the state to put aside partisan sentiments and vote massively for Chief Great Ogboru in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Warri, Delta state, Mr. Akpodubakaye noted that Chief Ogboru’s background as a maritime business mogul makes him the best candidate to win the forth coming governorship polls, adding that he is the most qualified in terms of exposure, having the expertise to harness the marine resources in Delta State for job creation.

Hon. Akpodubakaye, a front line Niger Delta activist, reiterated further that Chief Great Ogboru has the required management expertise to explore the abundant potentials of the blue economy (maritime) in the state, which comprise sustainable management of marine resources, oil and gas, coastal pollution, shipping and waterways security, agro-allied industries, including fisheries, aquaculture, and marine tourism, as tremendous job creation opportunity.

He said Delta state, with four sea ports which have been moribund over the years holds huge potentials for the emerging maritime economy, pointing out that Chief Ogboru who is an expert in fisheries and other chains of international business concerns will bring his business experience to bear when elected as the next governor of Delta state.

According the youth leader, “Oceans and their marine resources are the bases upon which economies of many littoral states thrive, pointing out that “Chief Ogboru is the candidate that can convert our marine resources into sustainable maritime jobs for the youths and women within their cultural environment ”.

He lamented that successive administrations in the state failed to harness the full potential of the blue economy which requires the effective participation of all stakeholders, especially women, young people, local communities, indigenous peoples, including the marginalized or underrepresented groups.
