2019: CEPEJ to Organize Peace Walk in Warri

-General public invited to participate in peace walk

The Center For Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, a non governmental organization, NGO in Nigeria will be organizing a peace walk in Warri ahead of the 2019 general elections.

This was made known to newsmen in Warri recently by the chairman of CEPEJ, Comr. Sheriff Mulade, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

The rights activist had invited members of the general public to participate in the rally, stressing that the peace walk will take place on Monday 11th of February 2019.

The statement reads in part: “This is to inform the general public that CEPEJ is set to commence a Peace walk Initiative in Connection with the 2019 General Elections.*

“The Center for Peace and Environmental Justice CEPEJ, a non government, non profit making and non religious organization established to promote peace, effective security, human right and environmental Justice as concluded plans to embark on a peace Walk in Delta State ahead of the 2019 general elections.

“The purpose is to call for a peaceful, free and fair polls that will guarantee lives and property devoid of interference, intimidation and harassment from electoral umpire, security operatives, it is a call to build on zero politically connected and instigated violence across Nigeria particularly Delta State. As the 2019 general election draws near.

“CEPEJ said there is need to call for a level playing ground in the elections and raise aloud its call and advocacy for peace.

“It is also a call on security operatives to contribute to peaceful exercise by upholding their roles in ensuring that they are not used by politcians, political parties and those with interest to disrupt the peaceful foundation laid as exemplified in the 2015 presidential elections.

“Peace in the 2019 general elections is a must at all levels. Peace is beneficial to all, Peace means Sucess, Peace means freedom, Peace means good life, Peace means development, peace is all we need.

“Date: 11th Monday 2019, Time: 9am prompt. Take off Point: NNPC Junior staff Club, Bendel Estate, Effurun terminate at Nigeria Police Area Command Office, Warri.

“Support and promote PEACEFUL ELECTION IN NIGERIA.” Mulade stated.
