Ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, sensitive and non sensitive materials yesterday left Burutu, headquarters of the Local Government to other communities without the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Returning Officers and Collation Officers accompanying the materials to their various rack centers in the Local Government.

The Liberator can report that the materials left Burutu to their various rack centers in the Local Government at about 5: 54Pm yesterday amidst tight security of military escort.

However, a source who would not want his name to be mentioned in print had hinted our reporter that the ROs and COs will be on ground at their various units, wards and rack centers early this morning before the commencement of the elections, stressing that the reason for this is that most of the officials were from Asaba and other urban areas in the state due to the peculiar nature of accessing the riverine communities.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that Rt. Hon Julius Pondi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, Abuja was fully on ground to monitor the materials up to the point of distribution to the various wards in the Local Government Area.

The Liberator can authoritatively report that Chairman, Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Godknows Angele was also on ground fully to monitor the entire process.
