2019: Unveiling of trophies, teams for the Godspenal football tournament begins today

According to information made available to The Liberator Newspaper, the event will take place today (Monday) at Youbebe community in oil rich Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Football tournament which is sponsored by Niger Delta business mongul and philanthropist, Apst. Dr. Godspower Tomone will be played in Ogulagha and Youbebe communities, while the finals will be played at Youbebe at a date that will be announced later.
The Opening match will take place at Ogulagha football pitch on the 10th of October, 2019, as 18 teams drawn from Ogulagha, Iduwini and Kou kingdoms will slug it out to the finals.
According to the sponsor of the football event, the best players that will emerge are to form the Godspenal football academy.
Winner of the tournament will go home with N200, 000 while the first and second runner up will get N150,000 and N100, 000 respectively.
According to Comr. Emmanuel Akpule who hinted our reporter maintained that the tournament is an initiative of the organiser’s quest to establish a football academy – Gospenal Football Academy.
According to him ” the tournament is in a wider perspective, a medium of annexing raw talents in the area of the round leather game called football and in same vein promoting peace and industriousness among the youths in the coastal areas experimenting with the Ogulagha, Iduwini, and Kou kingdoms in Delta and Bayelsa states. ”
Co-organisers of the tournaments includes, the famous Coach and FIFA representative in Ogulagha kingdom Akin Ayigo, Coach Oliver Igwe from Asaba, former Warri Wolves coach, Erico, Coach Delpero of Ogulagha etc.
Recall that registration of teams started August while the draw had been held earlier
