The duo of Samson Tunde Ikpelagha and Wilfred Agonokemi has congratulated High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo on the Surveillance contract awarded to him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Mr. Samson Tunde Ikpelagha

The duo of Wilfred and Samson issued the congratulatory message to newsmen in Warri yesterday via a joint statement, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

Mr. Wilfred Agonokemi

They expressed optimism that High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo will deliver fully in handling the Surveillance contract as a capable hand, stressing that he has done it before and will do it again.

However, the statement had appealed to Tompolo that while executing the Surveillance contract to the best of his abilities, he should deeply consider the plight of bunkers in the Niger Delta region.

According to them, over the years, the Federal Government of Nigeria has neglected the region and her people in terms of infrastructural and human capital development.

They continued that the oil which is drilled out of the region on a daily basis that is the driving force of the Nigerian economy has not been used in any way to develop the region and her people.

Nevertheless, Tunde and Wilfred noted that it is such striking hunger and helpless situation of Niger Deltans that have relegated and subjected the people to penury that made them venture into bunkering as a means of survival.

The statement further noted that for the Federal Government of Nigeria to be setting up measures to stop illegal bunkering in the region via pipeline security contract, they should also look for a way to adequately compensate those that have depended on bunkering activities for survival.

Meanwhile, the duo had appealed to Tompolo to look deep and not to abandon those involved in illegal bunkering activities but to activate plans to accommodate and take care of them.
