Iduwini Kingdom Youth Leader Hails Tompolo, Commend Him For Resolving Letugbene, Bilabiri Feud

Former Iduwini National Youth President, Comr. Andrew Nelson have applauded the Federal Government of Nigeria  over the award of the pipeline surveillance contract to Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.

The former  President General of Iduwini kingdom in Delta and Bayelsa States made the commendation through an Iduwini born lawyer ( Barrister Jeremiah Charles Ikpaka) in a statement signed by the  “President General” Nelson Andrew Gbigbi, on Monday in Warri, a copy of which was made available to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide. 

Nelson Andrew stated that Tompolo, who was the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), would secure the pipelines across the region for the benefit of the country.

He said that Tompolo is in the best position to execute the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to him by the Federal Government, having carried out similar exercise successfully in the past.

Andrew noted that the Federal Government’s decision to award the contract to Tompolo was not misplaced. According to him, the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta has done enough to keep the peace in the Niger Delta.

Andrew asserted that Tantita will work with Nigerian military to end illegal bunkering activities in the Niger Delta, stressing that this will be so due to the destruction of aquatic lives and its health implications.

“It is on record that Tompolo has worked tirelessly for the peace in Niger Delta and will continue to sustain and protect the wealth of the nation in collaboration with other stakeholders just as he has done by engaging all communities and Kingdom Youths without  discrimination. I appreciate Tompolo for remembering his people and not being greedy to have pocket the contract sum awarded to him by Federal Government to himself alone just as some persons had done.

“I also commend the Federal Government for doing the right thing by awarding the protection of a vital nation’s wealth to our leader, Tompolo.

However, according to Nelson Andrew,  Tompolo deserved to be commended for restoring peace in Letugbene community, Iduwini Kingdom and Bilabiri communities in mein clan all in Dodo River, however the former President General also implore  Tompolo to extend his peace building agenda to all disputing neighbouring communities within Iduwini Kingdom and Niger Delta at large and urge Federal Government to award and Honour Tompolo with National award of ” peace ambassador of Nigeria “

“We are ready to support the Federal Government’s efforts to curb crude oil theft and illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region and the development of the region as well as to boost the economy of the country.”

He also declared the support of the group for the Federal Government’s action, adding that Tompolo have the  capacity to help save the country billions of naira being lost through oil theft and pipeline vandalism.

The Former President General in strong terms have condemned the act of some former militant generals or community leaders who have took it upon themselves to encroach on the boundaries of other communities and warn that, every security personnel should work within his jurisdiction.

“Do not for the now patrol to the Iduwini axis as we have been witnessing, owing to the fact that, we are trying to maintain peace within the Iduwini boarder line at such everyone should do same and curb oil theft within their communities.” Nelson stated.  

Speaking further,  Andrew had pleaded with Tompolo to call such group of persons to order  in other not to cause any form of misunderstanding within the brotherhood. 

“We, the  Iduwini National Youth Body ( INYB) in- Bayelsa and Delta State want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari and to declare our total support for his administration’s efforts at developing the Niger Delta region,” Andrew said.
