Leader of the Delta State Ijaw All Progressive Congress (APC ), High Chief Michael Johnny has vowed that he will work collectively with all Ijaws in the party to ensure that His Excellency, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, federal republic of Nigeria becomes the next Governor of Delta State come 2023. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

Chief Michael Johnny made the vow earlier today while playing host to the All Progressive Congress (APC) Delta State 2023 Governorship aspirant, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege  at his residence in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Delta Ijaw APC leader alleged that 2023 will not be business as usual for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), particularly in the Ijaw speaking Local Government Areas of the state.

He reiterated that there is nothing like Ijaw Agenda come 2023, stressing that those parading the Delta Ijaw for Governor mantra are people that are afraid of being retired from politics.

He continued by saying “no one has the monopoly of violence, if they have asawana boys, we also have asawana boys, we know ourselves when it comes to that.”

Leader Michael Johnny noted that the Delta Ijaws in APC will do whatever it takes to enthrone an APC Governor in Delta State come 2023, adding that His Excellency, Sen. Ovie  Omo-Agege is the next Governor of the state.

However, Chief Michael also vowed that the Ijaws will rally round themselves financially and otherwise in ensuring that Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege emerges as the next Governor of the state, stating that he will face PDP in the Ijaw areas face to face during the general elections.

Johnny stated that he has looked into all those from Ijaw and other ethnic nationalities that are contesting the Delta 2023 Governorship, stressing that there is no one that can deliver the Ijaw people from the scurges of underdevelopment and political subjugation, stressing that Ovie Omo-Agege remains the only mesiah that can deliver the Ijaw people and Delta State at large.

In his words: “I want to thank you for coming to see us your Excellency, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, federal republic of Nigeria and our APC Governorship aspirant, I want to assure you that as Ijaw people, we cannot continue to be a suffering and smiling people. We have over the years supported the PDP without anything to show for it.

“I repeat here again that there is nothing like Ijaw Agenda, nobody have the monopoly of violence, we all belong to the asawana, we have seen our political mesiah, we will work with you, those parading themselves with Ijaw agenda are people that are  afraid of being retired from politics.

“This time around, there is going to be dry votes in the Ijaw areas, we are going to face our people face to face, I also want to enjoy, I want to build solid relation that will be beneficial to the Ijaw people. We have looked at everyone in Ijaw contesting the position that there is no mesiah, Omo-Agege is our only mesiah. As Ijaw people we will meet and raise whatever it is to ensure that we enthrone you as the next Governor of Delta State come 2023.”

In his speech earlier, His Excellency, the deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Delta 2023 APC Governorship aspirant, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege had lauded Chief Michael Johnny and the entire Delta Ijaw APC stakeholders for playing host to him.

He reiterated that he is not apologetic about his speech during the declaration at FUPRE, wondering that instead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Delta State Government to debunk his statement with facts stating otherwise, they have rather resorted to insults on his person and what have you.

In his words: “I thought I was coming for a private visit to see our party leader, High Chief Michael Johnny for his beautiful edifice and an event that almost took his life. Seeing the cream dela cream of our party surely makes me happy.

“Let me use this opportunity to reiterate some of the issues at FUPRE, most Deltans have been bewildered by the reactions of the Delta State Government and the PDP.

“Let PDP know that nobody can ever shutdown Ovie Omo-Agege. For us to have come this long, they ought to have known that.  None of them have been able to come up to say that what  I said during the declaration was not true but they are rather resorting to insults and what have you.

“Delta is a very rich state but for the past years, Delta has received more money than other states in the South South.

“In the past 7 years, Delta has received over 800 billion naira  but there is nothing to show for it. Most of these resources comes from Ijaw and Itsekiri, if you remove the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) ,Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State,  there is nothing to show for it, no banking facilities in Ijaw nation. We the Urhobos are very angry but why are the Ijaws not angry.

“I refuse to join the conspiracy of underdeveloping our people, the PDP leaders in Ijaw  are conspiring to underdevelop their people, if they are not angry, I want to be angry on their behalf.

“The electoral act is my baby, I did not support it but i wrote it. And I wrote it for a reason. For example, a community in riverine area that  have 15, 000 people will be producing  more than 25,000,00, I want to assure you that, that era is gone. I expect you to be as angry as I am. I am really here for you. I have created an enabling environment for you and I will fight to the end, PDP can no longer rig APC out. What we saw on Thursday shows that Deltans are tired of PDP. There is a voter revolution that is ongoing not only in Ijaw nation but in Urhobo, Anioma, Ika North East and what have you.

“We like Okowa as a good man but we dislike his style of administration. We need 16 billion to build the Federal Polytechnic in Orogun and Okowa is wasting 2 billion naira on aides monthly.  If you calculate 2 billion naira monthly for seven years it will be 168 billion naira.

“Out of the newly estabilised three universities,  Okowa should have considered Ijaw nation with one of the university. I have started this fight, there is no going back, we will fight to the end and we are going to conclude it in our own terms.

“I am not the first or only Senator in Delta State. Just this year budget,  i have brought 32 billion naira to Delta State. Last year 27 billion, the previous one 16-17 billion naira.

“If given the chance to become the Governor of Delta State,  I will ensure that we will share the allocations equitably by embarking on reasonable projects that will positively affect the lives of our people. Go home and talk to the PDP people, some of them needs you to talk to them before living their comfort zone.

“When you go to Bomadi, you will have PDP overlords, I call them overlords because we have people that have become permanent creatures in the national assembly if not national assembly ancestors.” Omo-Agege stated.

High point of the ceremony was when speaker after speaker among the Delta Ijaw APC stakeholders highlighted some of their pains bothering the Ijaws in the various local government councils  with issues of underdevelopment and deprivations.

The visit was graced by state officers of the party including the Delta State APC youth leader, Amb. Dr. Anthony Ebitonmo Alapala, Mr. Amabiri Azobor, APC Local Government Chairmen in Burutu, Bomadi, Patani,  Warri South, Warri South West and Warri North, Ward Chairmen, critical Ijaw stakeholders of the party as well as different APC and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege support groups.
