True to the saying that “charity begins at home”, the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, Hon. Julius Pondi who is a leading aspirant for the Burutu Federal Constituency seat for a more prosperous representation come 2023 has on Thursday declared his intention to return to the house.

The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide that was live on ground to cover the declaration  at the Teebulous Hotel in Warri, Delta State yesterday can report that during the declaration at the Ward 11 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caucus in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State saw the federal lawmaker briefing his house on the journey so far. 

Speaking during the declaration meeting, Pondi noted that for a man to embark on any political journey, he must first put his house together to receive their blessings hence the meeting.He particularly appreciated the ward for always standing by him, stressing that he is very proud of his ward and its political leaders, stressing that he will continue to owe them in high esteem. He noted that  before coming to declare his ambition to recontest the Burutu Federal House of Representatives seat, he has secretly consulted all critical stakeholders in the party both at state,  national and local government levels and that they have all given him the nod to go ahead with his ambition hence his declaration. 

However, he explained that so much has happened in the country with his first and second tenures as a legislator representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives for the economic woes that bedevilled the country to covid-19 and what have you. Pondi maintained that despites the daunting challenges, he did not forget his people  by influencing development to the ward using his political connections in the State, NDDC and other Government parastatals.In making reference to some of the projects he has influenced to the ward so far, he said some of such projects include the awarded Ogulagha -Odimodi road from the Delta State Government, Yokiri, Sokebolou and Obotobo I & II Communities road project from the Delta State Government, the Sologha Ekpemupolo Jamb Centre at Ogulagha, ongoing Sandfillling of Odimodi Community by NDDC, awarded 2. 5km road by Nddc at Sokebolou, awarded 2km road at Obotobo I by NDDC, Solar powered light at Ofougbene Community, supply of school desks at Okibou zion and others too numerous to mention. 

Pondi, a lawmaker described as one of the best lawmaker in the entire Nigerian Federation stated that in the business of lawmaking at the federal level, the more you stay long in the House the more you become influential by being a ranking member in the House, noting that if he could attract such projects to the ward within these period despite not being a ranking member in the House, he will definitely do more when he returns to the house as the chances of being a ranking member is high now come 2023.

Nevertheless, in a swift response, Amb. Chief Evans E. Etimigba (JP), Chairman of the ward 11 PDP Caucus who presided over the meeting spoke passionately by lauding  Pondi for the display of what he described as vibrant and purposeful representation in the House so far, stressing that the entire Burutu Federal Constituency has never had it this good before now. He continued that Pondi is not only a voice in the House fighting for his people but has also done well in performing his oversight functions by attracting development to the ward and the entire Burutu Local Government Area. 

Etimigba stated that the ward 11 PDP Caucus is with him as their blessings are with him, stressing that they will move and mobilise others massively in ensuring that he returns back to the house to continue his effective represention in the House.

High point of the declaration meeting was the passing of vote of confidence and adoption of Pondi as their sole candidate ahead of the PDP primaries. 

This was done following a motion raised by Hon. Tom Willy Ebiakpo, a staunch leader in the ward 11 PDP Caucus , it was seconded by Comr. Isaiah Ingo Tam and was unanimously supported by all via a voice vote.
