Apex Ijaw Youth body operating under the auspices of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has celebrated a renowned nationalist from the Niger Delta region, Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and BOT Chairman of our highly revered Ijaw National Congress (INC) on his 97th birth anniversary.

The Ijaw Youth Council particularly described Pa Clark as a living legend in Nigeria and a precious Jewel to the people of Niger Delta and the Ijaws that have spent several decades in the struggle for social justice for the minorities in Nigeria, particularly to the Niger Delta and Ijaw people.

This was contained in a statement signed on behalf of council by Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide earlier today in Warri.

Pa Clark, A Living Legend And Precious Jewel In Nigeria, Niger Delta, Ijaw People

As today mark the 97th blissful birth anniversary of a vocal voice, a living legend and precious Jewel in Nigeria, Niger Delta and the Ijaw people, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide is adding its voice in congratulating our father Chief (Dr) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark on his 97th birth anniversary.

For us as a council, we are very happy to see you gallantly celebrating your 97th birth anniversary. We are particularly excited because you have contributed a lot towards the growth and continued survival of the Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta region.

You are not just a regional leader but a national leader in Nigeria, your wisdom and unprecedented knowledge has largely shappened Nigerian democracy and the call for a better living condition of the Niger Delta people and the Ijaws. You have always argued for an egalitarian state where both minorities can be regarded as real humans in the Nigerian State. Thank you for being brutally frank in speaking to authorities regarding our tortures State of underdevelopment.

People like Pa Clark are born once in every century hence we are happy to have you in this century. It is our collective prayer as Ijaw Youths that you continue to live longer for us.

Even at 97, your brain is more sharper, you are no doubt a champion of progress and a stainless leader that Nigeria, Niger Delta and the Ijaws cannot do without. We are really very proud of you. In recent times, you have given more meaning to our struggle for a better living standard in the Nigerian State.

However, when we look back at where we are coming from as an oppressed people, there is no single development or progress that has taken place in the Niger Delta region in the last few decades without your contribution. You are truly a father figure in Nigeria and Niger Delta as a whole. You are a symbol of unity and a father that detest oppression under any guise.

Pa Clark is the leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chairman BOT to our mother body, the Ijaw National Congress (INC), a former Senator Federal Republic of Nigeria and a first republican minister for information.

Finally, It is our prayer that the Lord Almighty will continue to keep you safe for us as we still have a lot to learn from you. Happy Birthday once again to our father, hero and a living legend of our struggle for a better living condition in the Nigerian State.
