An Ex militant leader and leading voice in the Niger Delta struggle, General Godspower Kokeme, alias GKD has described the amnesty programme under the leadership of Prof. Charles Dokubo as failure

Kokeme hinted this in a chat with The Liberator at Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu local government area of Delta state yesterday.

He lamented that successive handlers of the amnesty programme have not been able to meet the yearnings of the people.

Taking a swipe at the Senior Special Adviser to the President and coordinator, Presidential amnesty programme Prof. Charles Dokubo, the self styled General said, amnesty programme under him has not been properly managed to achieve its cardinal objectives.

He said ”Prof. Dokubor has totally failed to use his professorial wisdom to manage the amnesty office to maintain peace across the Niger Delta”.

He further accused Prof Dokubo of gross incompetence and practicing nepotism and called on President Muhammad Buhari to relieve him of his duty .

” Since Prof. Dokubo demand sack, let him be sacked on time because am very sure that he can’t clear the albatrosses that surround the neck of his administration” .

He recalled that Dokubo was brought to office to clear the mess of his predecessor, Gen Boro but ended up toeing the same path.

Advising President Buhari on what should be the criteria for appointment into the amnesty office, Kokome said only persons who are knowledgeable in the operations of ex agitators and understands how the system works should get the job.

Prof. Dokubo has been under serious attack recently especially from Niger Delta leaders, calling for his sack over what they described as failed leadership.

A recent report indicated that Prof. Dokubo is presently using Amnesty funds to recruit and pay people to stage protest accross the region in support of his activities to enable him remain in office as the Amnesty Coordinator.
