A group operating under the auspices of Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF has called on president Mohammadu Buhari to immediately replace Prof. Charles Quaker Dokubo, special adviser to the president on Niger Delta and coordinator presidential amnesty program.

The group made the disclosure yesterday via a statement issued to newsmen by the Odidi chapter chairman of the NDLF, Comr. Okunduopagha James, alias Don Banky, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

According to Don Banky, the call for immediate replacement of the current amnesty boss have become imperative, noting that his pattern of leadership as coordinator of the program shows that he does not understand the tenets of the program.

James had particularly called on president Mohammadu Buhari to replace Dokubo with a competent Ijaw son who knows the rudiments of the program from Delta State, stressing that amnesty delegates are suffering massively under the current leadership of Dokubo.

It would be recalled that the NDFL issued the statement after an emergency meeting held with the various chapter chairmen in Yenagoa, presided over by the Odidi chapter chairman, Don Banky at the capital of Bayelsa State after allegedly reviewing the program under Dokubo.

The group had noted that appointing an Ijaw son that is closer to the ex-agitators should be the right thing to do at the moment, alleging that the program as it stands has no direction under Charles.

“As critical stakeholders in the amnesty program, we have viewed and even suffered chronically in the hands of Dokubo, he appears not to understand the basic tenets of the program, there are lots of issues surrounding his administration in the office, foreigners are now the beneficiaries of the program, our ex-agitators are being shortchanged on a daily basis, his reign is like hell and doom for the Niger Delta people.

“His inefficiencies are so bogus that if we continue to highlight them, there will be no space big enough to contain his fraudulent homily, for example, people that studied law will be called upon by amnesty under Dokubo and be empowered with few items to open a provision store, does this make any sense? he does not even know our creeks not to talk of addressing our issues. He has to be replaced with a better option from Delta State this time around, foreigners have completely hijacked the system “.
