Ancient Olorogun Beach Carnival Begins On Friday In Delta – The Liberator

All seem to be set for the successful hosting of this years annual Ayakoromo Olorogun Beach Carnival scheduled to take place on Friday 24th January 2020 in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, the organiser have said

According to information available to The Liberator Newspaper, preparations are in top gear as organisers are mobilizing both human and material resources for the smooth hosting of the epoch making event.

The Liberator Newspaper also gathered that the Okosu-otu masquerade group of Ayakoromo Community has commenced the process of this year’s Olorogun first outing.

The event will hold at Ayakoromo Federated Community Youth Hall Water front, starting from 10:30am, as members of the public have been asked to come out en-masse to witness both the beach carnival and the Orologun festival.

Popular musician, Bestman May and DJ Angos aka Ayafa first son are billed to perform at the event as visitors are to pay the sum on N500 before gaining access into the venue of the event.

The information added that Mr. Fidelis Denghan, Moses Mienkoromo and Mrs Yellow Aguede will grace the occasion in capacity as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Chair Lady of the occasion while Capt. Wilson, the prime minister of all the Ijaws in Udu, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State will be royal father of the day.

It would be recalled that the Ayakoromo Olorogun festival in Burutu Local Government Area is an ancient festival, celebrated annually by the people of Ayakoromo, a festival regarded as one of the most celebrated in the entire Niger Delta region but has been allegedly underreported.

How the crowd will gather and seeing the magnificent masquerade, Olorogun display is truly a sight to behold.
