Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Hon. Godknows Angele yesterday resumed office with a view to squarely address security, health and human capital development in the local government. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

Hon. Godknows Angele gave the assurance on Monday while reacting to journalists in an interview at his office at the council secretariat, Burutu.

Angele noted that while he will work closely and maintain a good relationship with the  legislative house of Burutu, he promised that during his second tenure, the councillors constituting the Burutu 7th legislative house will be staying and working in Burutu as soon as the furnituring of the legislative quarter is completed.

On the twin issues of electricity and drinkable water, the council Chairman reiterated his commitment in ensuring that this time around, during his 100 days in office, he is hopeful that a portable drinkable water must have been actualized as modalities are already on ground, stressing that the issue of light will also be dealt with.

According to him, he had since partitioned Burutu to different sections particularly Amba, Quarters and the local government secretariat area with different generators to be supplying lights, adding that all he does is to provide diesels to run the generators to provide lights for residents of the area which he said is usually expensive to run.

In what he described as a good news, Angele had informed the people of Burutu community that His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State has graciously provided two sets of 550KVA generators to provide light for the community.

He continued that he will mobilised as soon as possible to Asaba for the collection of the two power generating  sets, adding that Governor Okowa deserves praises.

However, on his part, Rt. Hon. Spencer Takeme, leader of the Burutu Legislative House had stated that he will ensure that there is a symbiotic relationship between the executive and legislative organs of the council, stressing that the people of Burutu Local Government should only hope for a better administration where what belongs to the people will be given to them.

Meanwhile, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme (JP), Chairman of the Delta South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta, member representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly and Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, member representing Burutu South in the Delta State House of Assembly and other prominent politicians in Burutu Local Government were on ground to witness the inauguration ceremony of the councillors.
