There seems to anxiety among contestants of the 2019 edition of the P-Lawuru food contest over who takes the day as tomorrow is scheduled for the anticipated big event.
Chief Sponsor of the event, Alaowei Prince Promise Lawuru, renowned Niger Delta philanthropist, Head of Operations, Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee and president general Egbema Brotherhood had hinted The Liberator Newspaper that uniting Niger Deltans gives him joy.
He had maintained that the programme is purely aimed at cementing the bond of unity among the Ijaws and Niger Deltans in general, stressing that the 2020 edition will be bigger.
On his his part, Hon. Simeon Bebenimibo had told Journalists and members of the general public as the Chief Judge of the programme that he will be fair in the selection of the winner.
However, Chief organizer of the programme, Amb Arerebo Yerinmene Jnr, had maintained that all arrangements have been concluded to host the event.
According to him, the Android phone worthing #100,000,00 had been bought and the #100,000 cash all for the winner have since been deposited into his account by the Chief Sponsor of the programme, Alaowei Prince Promise Lawuru.
Salaco had stated that #16,000, 00naira each had been credited into the accounts of Comr. Fanti B. Covenant and Artist Coded M. Buku who will battle to win the contest tomorrow.
Yerinmene had further explained that the #16,000,00 naira was to enable the duo buy fish and other things to prepare for the food that they will be cooking out of which the panel of Judges will after tasting decides who takes the day.
It would be recalled that the contest is slated to commence on Thursday (Tomorrow) 4th of April 2019 at Uwhronwurun Road by Kepas Filling Station Opposite Famz Hotel, Udu Local Government Area, Delta State by 2pm Prompt.
