Asupa Congratulates Okowa On His Victory As Chairman South South PDP Governors Forum – The Liberator

Member representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Asupa Forteta has congratulated the governor of Delta State , His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on his election as the chairman of South South Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governors forum.
Forteta who made the congratulatory remarks in an exclusive chat with The Liberator Newspaper on Sunday said the election of the governor is one of the best thing that has happened to the State, the South-South geo- political zone, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigeria in general in recent times.
The honourable member noted that Okowa possesses an unbeatable credentials to pilot the affairs of the forum and take it to an enviable height, saying that his antecedents speaks volume of a man who has sacrificed so much and still willing to sacrifice more for the enthronement of purposeful leadership in the region.
He noted that the choice of Okowa for the position was a well thought out one by his colleagues and urged them to cooperate with him in all matters that will attract sustainable development as well as make the south south region the economic hub of Nigeria.
He described Okowa as peace loving, hardworking governor, a tested and trusted politician whose tenure as a governor has witness unprecedented progress through rigorous pursuit of his SMART agenda
He therefore called on party faithfuls and stakeholders in the region both in Nigeria and in diaspora to queue behind the SMART governor as he take steps in collaboration with other governors in the region to fight poverty, unemployment, environmental degradation and other face steering challenges in the region.
Okowa was elected chairman of the South -South governors forum on Friday following the expiration of the tenure of Former Bayelsa State governor Seriake Dickson who hitherto occupied the position.
