Igali noted that, with the massive support base his governorship ambition has received in all the local governments area of the state as well as from members of the public, he has no doubt that victory is sure.
The Diplomat advised other aspirants who may be banking on godfathers and connection from within and outside the state to start having a rethink, as according to him ” this time, big money will not work, big names will not work. What will work is Gods answer to our continued prayers expressed through time tested, experienced, exposed, strong and visionary personality”.
He described all the contestants who have so far indicated interest in the governorship race as the most qualified Bayelsans for the office of governor but however called for an open debate involving all the aspirants.

Explaining further, He said that though one on one discussions with delegate is very good, yet it cannot in any way take the place of open debate “the ongoing one on one and group discussions with Delegates is very good and most of them have come to appreciate my worth and that of my colleagues. But the ability to openly debate and expound the blueprints which we have or clear the air on several issues has always been part of political process”.
He therefore called on professional bodies and civil society groups to consider engaging the aspirants in a debate.
In his remarks, leader of the Bayelsa Youth Mandate Forum Evangelist Moses Timikidi described Igali as a candidate to beat and call on all PDP delegates for the primary to shun money politics by putting the interest of the State first in their choice of candidate, stressing that imposition of candidate and vote buying will only spell doom for the State.
Amb. Igali has been cleared by the PDP to contest the primary along side 21 others, his popularity and experience both as a diplomats and public servant may likely see him scale through victory
In addition, he possess a rich résumé with sound academic background, many believes his popularity as a strong grassroot mobilizer will give him an edge over other aspirants.
