Birthday: Okporu Wants Deltans To Support Ijaw Governorship Project In 2023
A Niger Delta social crusader and Director General, Delta Ijaw 2023 Governorship Advocacy Group (GIGAG), Amb. Okporu Augustine (JP) has called on all Deltans to support an Ijaw man for Governor come 2023.
This was contained in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide while reacting to his birth anniversary, stressing that his wish for Deltans on his birth anniversary is for Deltans to support an Ijaw Governor come 2023.
The statement reads in full below:
MY BIRTHDAY WISH: A call on Deltans to support the Ijaw Governorship Project.
I want to thank God almighty for his mercies and kindness upon my life, for making me to see another day of my birth. I equally want to salute the numerous members of the Delta Ijaw 2023 Governorship Advocacy Group (GIGAG), for your believe and trust in my leadership.
On this special day of my birth, I call on all Ijaws to let go of their grievances to support the Ijaw Governorship project in Delta State. The Ijaws have supported other ethnic nationalities in the state to become governors in time past, including the Urhobos of Delta Central senatorial district. Therefore, I appeal to every other ethnic nationality to give the Ijaws the desired support to produce the governor of the State.
To our brothers in the Central,I want to passionately appeal to them to drop their Governorship ambition to support the Ijaws of Delta South Senatorial District for the purpose of equity, fairness and justice. The Urhobos and have govern Delta State in the time past .
I also want to appeal to the Governor of Delta State to give the Ijaws the enabling environment to succed him. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa should remember that the Delta Central never supported him or the Delta North in the 2015 PDP Primaries elections, they all supported Hon. David Edevbie because they (Urhobo) said there is no zoning.
