A foremost Ijaw musician, the Iduwini Kingdom music king of Delta and Bayelsa States, Chief Allen Alabor, the Seipere of Niger Delta has distanced himself from the purported coronation of Chief Pereama Freetown as the king of Ijaw music industry.

King Alabor made his position known earlier today via a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa he personally signed, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

Allen Alabor, an Ijaw musician that specializes in three genres of music, core Ijaw traditional music, Owigiri and Ijaw christian songs noted that as one of the Ijaw outstanding music artist, he believed that if Ijaw musicians are to meet to take a decision on who becomes the next music King of Ijaw nation, he ought to be consulted and he would have aired his voice on the matter.

He regretted that he is so surprised that in a matter of such magnitude where Ijaw musicians is said to have been selecting someone among them to be crowned as Ijaw music king to whom he belongs to, stressing that he is not aware of such development.

King Allen noted that his name should not be mentioned in a matter that his opinion was not sought for, adding that it seem that some musicians are now more Ijaw than others.

The Niger Delta Seipere had warned that his name should not be mentioned as being part of such arrangement of making Chief Pereama as Ijaw music king, maintaining that his name should not be mentioned in a matter that he was not part of.

In his words: “I can’t be responsible for what I am not part of and know nothing about, all I am saying is that I should be counted out of the arrangement of crowning Ijaw music king on March in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State “.

Speaking further, Alabor said he has no issue of whoever that is selected to become the next king of Ijaw music, but noted that things ought to be done well as it ought to be open for all Ijaw musicians to deliberate and not some group of Ijaw musicians deciding for others in their absence.

It would be recalled that all seem to be set for the official coronation of Chief Pereama Freetown, popularly known as the grand master, a former musical son of late King Robert Ebizimo on March in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.
