Burutu Federal Constituency: Grassroot Movement Appeals To Delegates, Want Pondi Re-elected
Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries for House of representatives, a group under the auspices of Pondi Grassroot Movement (PGM) in
Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State have appealed to delegates to vote Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing the constituency to continue the legislative progress in the area.
The appeal was made recently in Warri via a statement personally signed by the national coordinator of the group, Mr. Roland Dede, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.
The statement while appealing to the PDP delegates across Burutu Federal Constituency had stated that Pondi remains the best option for a more progressive Burutu, adding that their votes are very critical in making Burutu Federal Constituency the envy of all.
However, Mr. Dede asserted that Pondi’s reign in the Federal House of representatives, representing Burutu Federal Constituency has been characterised with unremarkable progress and development in all standard.
He continued that it can only take a superlative lawmaker to have done what Pondi is doing in the Federal House of representatives within the last 7 (seven) years, adding that giving him another chance to consolidate on his achievements will be beneficial to the people of Burutu.
According to him, for a lawmaker to have as part of his constituency projects cited projects across all wards in the Federal Constituency as part of his oversight functions is something that is worthy of commendation, adding that his developmental blueprints are evident in virtually all wards.
Nevertheless, the national coordinator of Pondi Grassroot Movement noted that the lawmaker have become a voice in the National Assembly, sponsoring bills to better the lives of his people, raising petitions to defend his people, moving motions and what have you.
Speaking further, Mr. Roland maintained that Pondi have influenced political appointment of many in the Local Government, assisting the needy when necessary and have also facilitated the employment of many in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
“In spite of all these, he has rolled out series of skill acquisition programmes to empower constituents ranging from fish farming to ICT and what have you. There is need for us to continue to enjoy this purposeful leadership in Burutu Federal Constituency via Pondi come 2023”. Dede stated.
Meanwhile, Roland have declared that the group’s support for Pondi will not only end at the primaries, stressing that by the grace of God , they will mobile fully for the general election as well.
