…The second coming of Angele is divine  – Takeme …We must be united as a party to confront our darkest challenges  – Oromoni …I will pay more attention to human capital development this time around – AngeleBy Binebai Princewill Leaders and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State earlier today thronged Burutu, headquarters of the Local Government Area for the official handing over of flag to all the Councillorship candidates in the local government to kick-off campaigns ahead of the March 6th local government elections in the state. The Liberator Newspapers can report.The twin event saw political leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) storming the ceremony with different messages directed to the people of Burutu Local Government Area on the need to vote for the PDP in the forthcoming council polls. In his opening remark, Hon. Ebike Oromoni, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Burutu Local Government Area had while addressing different issues within the party called for unity, stressing that without unity in the party, it will be difficult to move on as a leading party. While congratulating the standard flag bearers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Oromoni had tasked the Councillorship candidates to be vigilant and should immediately return to their various wards to campaign from unit to unit, warning that no stone should be left unturned. Speaking further, the Burutu Local Government PDP Chairman also warned the flag bearers that it is not going to be business as usual, maintaining that everyone must show working, stressing that everyone should go about their campaigns with strict adherence to Covid-19 preventive measures. On his part, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta South Senatorial District, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme (JP) stated that the second coming of Hon. Godknows Angele, former Chairman of the local government and flag bearer of the party ahead of the March 6th local government elections in the state is a divine one, adding that the entire people of Burutu Local Government stands to gain more from the continuity joint ticket of Hon. Godknows Angele and his deputy Chief Combolous Ikisa. In urging the people of Burutu to continue to sustain their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta South PDP Chairman, Dr. Julius Takeme had described Okowa as the most performing Governor in Nigeria, adding that the Governor has done a lot for the people of Burutu and that he is sure that more works will be done as the Governor will be finishing strong. In his words: “The return of Angele is divine hence his return is our collective responsibility. We can all attest to his good deeds while as a council Chairman. As a people, let us vote for only PDP come March 6th to secure a better tomorrow. “However, Hon. Godknows Angele had in his remark hinted the People of Burutu Local Government Area that he will be focusing more on human capital development, adding that the administration cannot continue to spend on infrastructural development of the council while the people will go hungry. He particularly appreciated the people of Burutu for their supports during his last administration, stressing that more of such support is needed in his second coming, adding that if elected, he will not dissapoint them like he did in his first outing. In his words: “While soliciting for your votes, I want to assure you that we have done it before hence we will do it again this time bigger, better and stronger. “We will massively design programmes for human capital development, people need to eat, I promise to tackle insecurity of the council, i want to  massively engage community chairmen across Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State for peaceful transition of community executives. “I will seriously  tackle health challenges by building health facilities across the council, all health centers across Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State will be fully operational. “Ogulagha market project must be completed and will be functioning during my second tenure.”On his part, Barr. B. D. Ekpese, Chairman Burutu Local Government 2021 PDP Burutu Local Government Campaign Committee  had appreciated the party leaders and faithfuls across the council that turned out for the event, stressing that Burutu is PDP and PDP is Burutu. “I expressed deep  appreciation for the massive turnout of PDP faithfuls, Burutu is home of the PDP. We don’t need long stories to tell here, our actions are our story, Burutu knows that PDP is talk na do. “We are always with you to redefine a better Burutu, come March 6th, our dear electorates should vote for PDP as the only party in our local government.” Barr.
