It was a celebration galore in Warri, Delta State as Apst. (Dr) Godspower Tomone bagged the highly coveted award from the United Nations (UN) International Association of World Peace Advocates, the UN Peace Volunteers as an Eminent Peace Ambassador. The Liberator Newspaper can report.
It was on Saturday the 26th of September that the International Association of World Peace Advocates officially decorated Apst. (Dr) Godspower Tomone and others as World Peace Ambassadors with presentation of certificates, emblems and other vital materials as global peace advocates.
From the day of bagging the eminent peace ambassador award, the Niger Delta advocate of good governance, philanthropist and God fearing leader will now be addressed as Amb (Dr) Godspower Tomone.
While speaking with newsmen after the investiture ceremony, His Excellency, Amb. Godspower Tomone who was full of joy expresses shock over the honour, stressing that he is surprised how it all happened, describing it as the hand work of God.
While appreciating and dedicating the award to the Lord Almighty for making him bag such an enviable award, Amb. Tomone said he will not fail to thank those who unknowingly nominated him to merit such an important award.
The revered Niger Delta leader particularly appreciated all those that rejoiced with him during the ceremony, stressing that he will continue to owe them in high esteem.
Notable among some of the highly placed personalities that graced the occasion with Amb. Tomone include Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Mrs Godspower Tomone with the host of others too numerous to mention that filed out in their numbers to grace the occasion.
Nevertheless, the certificate of award was presented to Amb. (Dr) Godspower Tomone by His Excellency, Amb. Per Stalsen JP, MP, World Peace President, Denmark, International Association of World Peace Advocates at Kariot Hotel in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
However, Amb. (Dr) Godspower had promised that he will not joke with his new award, stressing that he has always advocated for a peaceful and descent society, maintaining that the new office will charge him to do more for the attainment of peace in his domain and around the world.
Speaking further, Amb. Tomone commended the United Nations for always preaching the gospel of peace around the world, noting that if not for the United Nations and the Lord Almighty, after the second world war, there could have been third world war before now.
He said at this point, the United Nations deserves to be praised by notable World leaders and all lovers of peace in the world, stating that people should not get tired of chasing peace.
Tomone reiterated that violence should be discouraged by all means, emphasising that the entire World would be a better place without crises.
Peace Ambassadors are individuals whose lives exemplify the ideal of living for the benefit of others and are dedicated to the promotion of universal moral values, strong family life, interfaith cooperation, international harmony, United Nations renewal, and are responsible for establishing a global culture of peace.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tomone, one of the Niger Delta leading philanthropist is Chairman of the Godspenal International Football Academy and also founder and chairman of the One Love Community Development and Promotion of Peace Initiative (OLCDPPI), organisations he has used in transforming the lives of many across the country.
