Celebration Rocks Warri South West As Guwor Splashes Over 300 Free JAMB Forms For Constituents

Students with high grades to get #50,000,00 scholarship

In what could be described as education revolution in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has purchased and splashed over 300 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB forms for constituents.

Hon. Guwor, Chairman House Committee in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC gave out the free JAMB forms yesterday at his office by Ekpan link road close to classical international school in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The lawmaker gave out the massive JAMB forms to his constituents through his Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, the “Guwor Emomotimi Foundation”.

While addressing the prospective Jambites, Hon. Guwor Emomotimi noted that during his campaigns, he did promised the people of Warri South West to raise the standard of education in the constituency and to provide a purposeful and qualitative leadership.

Guwor particularly noted that he is happy because he is delivering on one key aspect of his campaign promises, stressing that better days are here for the people of Warri South West.

He challenged the students to take advantage of the opportunity and use it wisely, adding that the future will be bleek without education, maintaining that he is ready to assist them educationally until their potentials were achieved.

Narrating his ordeal while growing up, the lawmaker noted that due to his quest to be educated as a young man, he passed through lots of challenges, at a point scotted with 16 people in a room just to ensure that he goes to school.

According to him, it was his determination to succeed in life through education that made him who he is today, adding that while he was growing up, all was not rossy for him, asserting that he would not want others to pass through what he experienced in his bid to go to school and be successful in life.

In his words: “I did promise that I will give quality education to our people and of course I promise to deliver good leadership to my people.

“Today I am happy that one of this promise is coming to fruition. I know how I struggled, this is one area that I want to be of help. The only way for a better future is by going to school. Don’t just look at it that its only a JAMB form, take it as a challenge, we were 17 people in a room in my bid to go to school. I am doing this to ensure that people don’t just pass through what I have being through. It is not just a JAMB form, those who perform well will gain scholarship from the Guwor Foundation. I am very ready to help and turn things around. Due to the challeges i encountered in life, i did not study my dream cause in the University, it will interest you to know that i will also take Jamb form to study law next year, i am a graduate of religious studies” Hon Guwor stated.

In an interview shortly after the programme with journalists, when asked if there are plans for scholarship and the number of target students, Guwor noted that those who scored high grade for JAMB and UTME to get admission from Warri South West under the scheme will get a #50,000,00 annual scholarship with other procedures.

The lawmaker stated that the target is at least two students per ward will be singled out to benefit from his scholarship scheme with high grades.

Guwor noted that beyond the education programme, he will continue to make meaningful contributions towards the growth and development of the constituency, stressing that Ijaws and Itsekiris are one.

Guwor gets kudos from other leaders in Warri South West

On his part, Hon. Arthur Akpodubakaye, vice chairman Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State while commending Guwor for the programme noted that Guwor has attained a rare feat.

He noted that Guwor is already preparing youths that will be taking up leadership positions in Warri South West, adding that Warri South West is truly proud of him.

Ozegbe challenges students to study hard

The leader Warri South West Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Ozegbe, had admonished the students to study hard to make Guwor and their parents proud.

“You have to study very well, read hard, you heard what he said, he was determined that one day he will get out of it and today we can all see the testimony of his determination to succeed in life.

“Even me it was not easy to get to where I am today, I have to fish before getting to where I am. Don’t disappoint your parents nor the foundation. Guwor has done well with this programme.” Leader Ozegbe noted.

Guwor is determined to change the narratives in Warri South West

Lauding the initiative of Guwor, Pst. Mark Sibe, an educationist stated that the member representing Warri South West, Hon. Guwor Emomotimi has practically demonstrated that he is determined to change the narratives in Warri South West.

“Guwor is doing this because he is determined to change the narratives to make positive impact in Warri South West. If you want to succeed work hard, this is a rare opportunity, make use of it”

It was like a drama as 41 year old Mrs Adline Oludewa Asoke, 41 year old woman from Dele Community, an Itsekiri, ward 10 in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State came out for the exercise.

Mrs Oludewa hinted journalists that she will work hard to ensure that she meet the scholarship requirements, stressing that over the years, she wanted to go to school but no money to go to school, adding that she will make use of this oppurnity.

She particularly appreciated Hon. Guwor Emomotimi, member representing Warri South West for the initiative, praying that God almighty shall continue to elevate him politically and otherwise.

Mr. Zion Oshiobugie, Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Clever Minds, OAP Social Entrepreneur, Carreer Coach took out his time to orient the students on what is needed for the JAMB forms and the scholarship of the Guwor Emomotimi Foundation.

High point of the event was the presentation of forms to the 305 prospective Jambites

Dignitaries present during the occasion include Hon. Mark Sibe, Hon. Arthur Akpodubakaye. Pst. Gabriel Ozegbe, Chief Baotu Bello, Comr. Nathaniel Oromoni, Hon. Saturday Smooth, Hon. Moses Ogugu, Hon. Patrick Omula, Madam Gladdys Gabari, Hon. Oyimi with the host of others in Warri South West that turned out in their numbers to join Guwor, members of his foundation and prospective Jambites who graced the occasion.
