The Puwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West local government area of Delta state, Chief (Elder) J.G.B. Ari (JP) has counseled newly conferred chiefs in the kingdom to “be honest, disciplined, should respect one another, respect law and order, and respect the traditional institution,” if they must get to the height.
The Puwei gave this counsel when he received some newly conferred chiefs from his native Kokodiagbene community who recently paid a courtesy visit to his residence in Warri, Delta state.
The newly conferred chiefs were led by Chief (Engr.) George Timiyan, the Miyenkeremowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom who said the purpose of the visit was to officially introduce the new chiefs to their leader and father from the community.
In his words, “About six persons were conferred with chieftaincy titles by His Royal Majesty of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oboro Gbaran II (Aketekpe, Agadagba) and we deem it fit to come to one of the most senior and elderly man in Kokodiagbene community, our leader, to formally introduce these new chiefs because due to his old age he was not there during the conferment of chieftaincy titles on them.
“We need to let him know their titles and the positions in the kingdom even though he might have heard it from the media or from His Royal Majesty. He appreciated the visit, entertained us and also gave us his blessings and elderly advice for us to move the community and the Kingdom to the next level,” he added.
The Puwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief (Elder) J.G.B. Ari (JP) also advised the newly conferred chiefs to fear God and be obedient in order for them to eat the good of the land while promising to play a godly counsel whenever the need arise.
The newly conferred chiefs present during the visit include: Chief (Comr.) Sheriff Mulade, the Ibe-Sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom; Chief (Capt.) Felix Eguare, the Yirindewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief (Mrs.) Fanny Adurumokumor, the Sukore-ere of Gbaramatu Kingdom and Chief (Mrs.) Ebidomine Ojogun, the Toi-melemo-ere of Gbaramatu Kingdom.
