Condolence: Angozi, Rep Pondi, Kestin, Others Vow To Give Oweilaemi’s Mother A Befitting Burial

It was historic yesterday as Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi, Delta state 2023 Governorship aspirant, Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of representatives and Chief Kestin Pondi all with their massive entourage visited Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo Roland, former president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide to console him over the demise of his mother, Mrs Poun-ere Kerema Pereotubo ( nee Ekeinga). Earlier, Dr. Braduce while condolling with the former president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo Roland stated that coming with his people to sympathise with Barr. Oweilaemi is necessary because he considers him as a younger brother, a political ally and a worthy son of Ijaw nation that have paid his dues. 

Angozi noted that the demise of one’s mother is no doubt a painful one hence he stated that it is God that giveth and also taketh, he particularly urged Oweilaemi to take solace in the fact that mama lived a worthy life for she to have produced seven children that are doing well, making Ijaw nation, Niger Delta and the entire Nigeria proud is something that really made mama Poun-ere to be a fulfilled woman while on earth. 

Speaking further, the Delta 2023 Governorship aspirant, Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi had called on Oweilaemi to keep him informed concerning the burial arrangements, adding that he will no doubt contribute his quota in ensuring that mama is given a befitting burial. 

However, in a related development, the youthful Burutu House of representatives member, Hon. Julius Pondi, one of the most highly rated Nigerian national lawmaker had also consoled Oweilaemi to take heart. 

Pondi maintained that the former president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo Roland is his personal friend, stressing that they have come a long way hence there is every need to identify with him in this critical moment of his mother’s demise. 

He asserted that he will ensure that he makes mama’s burial his own personal affair, adding that mama Poun-ere will surely be given a befitting burial as he is going to prepare massively for it.

Nevertheless, the stylish lawmaker had charged Oweilaemi to be giving him updates regarding the burial to enable him prepare ahead of time, stating that this is a trying moment for his friend Oweilaemi hence he can’t leave him alone.

In his reaction, Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo Roland had appreciated Dr. Braduce and Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of representatives, triple chief Kestin Pondi, King of the youths, Sir Godfrey Pondi and others for the visit. 

He noted that he is elated for the visit, stressing that even though his mother died at the age of 84, he will still miss her as she has been living with him for the past 15 years. 

He narrated that as aged as his mother was, each morning when he checks on her to see how she is faring, it would  rather be his mother that would be asking him if he has eaten, a situation that has always kept him wondering on the penchant love his mother has for him. 

According to him, his mother gave birth to seven (7), out of which there are both male and female siblings, stressing that he has elder ones as he is not the first, second nor third.

He noted that as a former president of council and as someone who has been openly and silently playing his role advocating for good governance and fighting for  an egalitarian society in Nigeria, he has met people, adding that he truly believes that his mother will be given a befitting burial that will befit her status. 

He particularly lauded Hon. Pondi for always checking on him both financially and morally since the demise of his mother, adding that Hon. Pondi is indeed a true friend and a trustworthy political ally, stressing that he will continue to owe him in high esteem. 

High point of the condolence visit was the signing of condolence register by Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi and Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of representatives. 

Others present include Sir Godfrey Pondi, Hon. Emma Sanibeni, Chief James Nieketen,  Comr. Duncan Forcados, Comr. Emmanuel Gesikeme Akpule, Dr, Doubra Collins Okotete, Chairman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Western Zone, Hon. Prosper Lamiegha, Mr. Humphrey Oluku, Sir Benike Joseph, Hon. Adidi Preboye, Mr. Akpos Dio, Mr. Victor Awisi, Mr. Princewill Agbogidi  with the host of several others too numerous.
