Coronavirus: Burutu Legislative Arm Adjourn Seating Indefinitely – The Liberator

The Burutu Local Government Legislative Arm under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze has adjourned seating of the house indefinitely.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper, personally signed by Rt. Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze, leader of the Burutu Local Government Legislative Arm, Delta State.

Alubeze noted that the decision was reached yesterday in Burutu, headquarters of the Local Government Area during an emergency meeting summoned by the leadership of the house which include principal officers of the house and other members of the legislative arm.

Hon. Asiaye, adjudged as one of the best performing leader in the history of Burutu Local Government Legislative Arm noted that the measure has become necessary owing to the global and national concern on the dreaded coronavirus otherwise known as Covid – 19.

However, Alubeze stated that the coronavirus pandemic has become a scurge that all concerned must do the needful to curtail its spread, stressing that as grassroot leaders, they are setting good example by adjourning seating indefinitely.

It would be recalled that the Burutu Local Government Legislative Arm was supposed to have sat today to deliberate on issues affecting the council but could not seat due to the indefinite adjournment.

Speaking further, the performing leader of the Burutu Legislative Arm had particularly hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for bringing up measures to curtail the spread of the dreadful virus.

While thanking President Buhari, Alubeze had also praised the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his measures to deal with the virus should it occur in the state, stressing that Governor Okowa is an exceptional leader that God has personally sent to deliver Deltans.

Joseph Asiaye Alubeze has assured the people of Burutu Local Government Area that the legislative arm will continue to work with the executive arm of government headed by Hon. Godknows Angele, chairman of Burutu Local Government Area in ensuring that they do the needful to sensitize people in the area.

Meanwhile, Hon. Joseph Asiaye had admonished sons and daughters of Burutu Local Government Area that may have travelled beyond the shores of Delta and Nigeria but have returned to the state and local government to go on self isolation for the required 14 days to observe their health status before coming out.

He noted that there is no need to spread the virus as it will be bad for anyone who knows that he or she must have been contacted by the virus but will still be going to attend public gatherings.

Alubeze had charged all sons and daughters of the Local Government Area to maintain the highest standard of hygiene by washing their hands regularly with liquid soap, regularly using hand sanitizers and maintaining of social distance in public.

He had assured the people of Burutu Local Government Area that Government authorities are working hard to ensure that the disease is brought under control, stating that residents must be vigilant and alert by always staying safe.

Hon. Asiaye had appealed to the people of Burutu Local Government and Deltans to adhere strictly to the directive given by the Delta State Governor to avoid spread of the virus.

It would be recalled that at the time of filling this report, no recorded case of Covid -19 has been recorded and reported in Delta State.
