Corruption In NDDC: Group Wants Akpabio To Be Suspended As Minister – The Liberator
The Izanzan Intellectual Camp also called on President Buhari to immediately constitute a panel of inquiry into these allegedly bogus allegations and investigate the activities of minister Akpabio and his surrogates.
The statement reads in full below:
AKPABIO HAS TURNED NDDC TO HIS COCOA FARM, PRESIDENT BUHARI MUST SUSPEND AND INVESTIGATE HIM NOW: IzanzanCamp
Our attention has been drawn over an ongoing looting and illegal transferring of staffs in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by the Honorable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio. The Honorable Minister is speedily transferring staffs from Delta and Bayesla State and replacing them with his own people to enable him fast tract the looting silently.
Facts and figures in our disposal has clearly shown that over Two Hundred and Fifty billion Naira (#250,000,000,000.00) has passed through the accounts since chief Akpabio became the supervisory minister within this short period. Akpabio and his cohorts has turn the commission to their cocoa farm hence we shall bring to the public and the presidency information at our disposal one after the other at the appropriate hour.
Undoubtedly, there is a very clear indication that the commission under Akpabio’s leadership is tactically avoiding and buying more time for the Interim board to continue the looting of the commission. Over seven(7) months no auditors has been appointed to commence work, Akpabio has masterminded the employment and sack of 3 acting managing directors. What is the crime of the sacked md’s?
Senator Akpabio should be aware that people died and we have not forgotten so soon how he stood against the Ijaw struggle that gave birth to the NDDC, NDM and other interventional agencies in the Niger Delta region therefore the calmness of Ijaw people should not be viewed as stupidity and never be taken for granted.
We and other Ijaw groups supported the interim board because of the illegality attached to the formation of that board so chief Akpabio should not take it as prerogative right and avenue to loot what is meant for the people and witch hunting of Delta and Bayelsa State staffs and expecting us to watch him bankrupt the commission.
To this very end, we are authoritatively saying that Senator Godswill Akpabio must should be suspended and investigated by the EFCC and the forensic audit should commence immediately but not under the supervision of chief Godswill Akpabio otherwise the crude oil from all Ijaw territories shall never be used to fund the present corruption going on at the NDDC.
