Chairman of oil rich Yokiri community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Engr. Moses Ibilou has congratulated High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on his recent High Court Judgement in Lagos. 

Engr. Ibilou,  popularly known as the excellent chairman of Yokiri community while celebrating and congratulating Tompolo maintained that the entire people of Yokiri has been in a mood of festivity following the judgement. 

He particularly commended the Nigerian judiciary for proving to be the last hope of the common man. 

Engr. Moses who also doubles as Tompolo’s in-law issued the congratulatory message to newsmen in Warri yesterday, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

According to him, Tompolo’s agitation in the repositioning of the Niger Delta have no doubt brought some level of development to the region, adding that he remains a leader to emulate by others in the region.

Chairman Moses had called on sons and daughters of Ijaw nation and Niger Deltans to always protect their own no matter what, adding that the picture earlier painted about Tompolo, the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta region by some sections of the media is not true as Ekpemupolo remains one of the most peaceful leader in the country.

However, Engr. Ibilou had called on the Ijaw nation to be more united to brace up for the challenges ahead, adding that it is only a united Ijaw nation that can drive home the needed development.

Nevertheless, the performing chairman of Yokiri community  had described Tompolo as a symbol of unity in Niger Delta, maintaining that his contributions towards the growth and development of the region over time have earned him being a living legend in the region.

In his words: “Tompolo is a man of peace, he has impacted many lives positively, he has sacrificed a lot including his personal happiness for the general good of the region. I on behalf of Yokiri community and my family wishes to congratulate him on this land mark judgment setting him free. 

“He is not a corrupt man as enemies would want to paint him, he has proven his leadership to every Ijaw communities and beyond in Nigeria, he has fought and visibly brought development to some parts of the region, such a man can’t be a bad person as strange quarters claim.

“Making peace with Tompolo will be for the betterment of the country, it is my prayer that whoever that wants his downfall shall not see the light of the day. God will guard and protect him to fulfil his heart desires in life.

“It is at the risk of repetition that I want to once again congratulate you, Odokorikodo on your freedom”. Engr. Moses Ibilou stated.
