The Liberator Newspaper can report that the first phase of total lockdown of Delta State began April 1 2020, it became a drama and grumbling among Deltans as the Governor extended the lockdown for another two weeks on April 14th for the second time with dawn to dusk curfew which will be expiring today.
The two weeks extension of lockdown had earlier been greeted with protests by residents of the state in Sapele, Bomadi and others that have been protesting via the media for hunger, calling for the relaxation of lockdown in the state.
The big question among Deltans is that will Governor Okowa relax the lockdown or there will be third phase of extension of the lockdown.
Meanwhile, there are indications that the Governor will be addressing people of the state today as preparations are already taking place in Asaba, capital of the state.

Nevertheless, the lockdown and its subsequent extension in the state was part of the measures employed by the Delta State Government to curtail the novel coronavirus in the state.
