Dekawei Congratulates New Nigerian Maritime University VC Adigio,  Commends Buhari – The Liberator

President of a revered Niger Delta pressure group, under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Youth Movement For Political Advancement, DIYMPA, Amb. John Dekawei has congratulated Prof. Emmanuel Adigio on his latest appointment as Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Nigerian Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State.

President of the group, Amb. John Dekawei particularly commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Prof. Adigio, stressing that his action shows that he is truly a president for all Nigerians. 

The Niger Delta advocate for good governance cum human rights activist, Dekawei issued the congratulatory and commendation message via a statement issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday, signed by him, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper. 

Amb. John while hailing president Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment, noted that there is no need for Nigerians to fight against themselves as Nigeria remains one indivisible entity, maintaining that President Buhari had continued to prove it over time. 

Speaking further, Dekawei had appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to continue to work to deepen the unity among Nigerians, stressing that prioritising the development of the Niger Delta region will make sense in dousing tension in the area. 

However, the young philanthropist had charged Prof. Emmanuel Adigio, the new VC of NMU, Okerenkoko in Delta State to put in his best for the aggressive revamping and development of the institution, stressing that there are myriad of daunting challenges bedeviling the institution. 

Amb. John Dekawei noted that he is hopeful that Prof. Adigio will do his best in contributing his quota for the continued growth and development of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.

Meanwhile, briefing newsmen after receiving his appointment letter in Abuja recently, professor Adigio affirmed commitment to reposition the university to international standard.

Professor Adigio said he would partner top class universities in the world, including the University of Liverpool, UK to improve on her courses such as marine engineering.

He said one of his cardinal objective is to move the University to it permanent site.

The Liberator Newspaper can report that Amb. John Dekawei is the chairman and founder of the John Dekawei Foundation, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) he has used in transforming the lives of many across the country and beyond.
