Barr. Oweilaemi, a revered Niger Delta Youth leader, a serious advocate of egalitarianism and a social crusader had particularly called on the Ijaw political leaders to begin the process of lobbying sister ethnic groups in the state  for the Ijaws to produce the next Governor of the state.

The IYC chieftain had also appealed to  His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to consider the Ijaws on who succeeds him for the purpose of fairness come 2023.

In his words: “We must deploy every available logistics at our disposal to actualize the ijaw Governorship dream in Delta State. This includes lobbying other ethnic nationalities to see reasons with us on how  imperatively important for us to produce the next governor to succeed Sen. Okowa for fairness, justice and equity . Remember, this is not a tea party. Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Unity is the watch word”.
