Delta 2023: Ijaw Group Throws Weight Behind Speaker Oborevwori’s Governorship Ambition

An Ijaw group in Delta State operating under the aegis of Gbaramatu Young Political Movement have thrown their weight behind the Governorship ambition of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly. 

The group under the leadership of Comr. Ekpemupolo Seiyefa, an influential youth leader in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State  made the disclosure to newsmen in Warri recently after what they described as crucial meeting among members of the group. 

Comr. Ekpemupolo Seiyefa hinted The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide that they will work closely with the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker in ensuring that he becomes the next Governor of the state. 

He continued that the Gbaramatu Young Political Movement have resolved that when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State finally begin the process of sales of forms, they will buy the governorship nomination and expression of interest form for the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker as their contribution to support his Delta Goveernorship race ahead of 2023.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Seiyefa Ekpemupolo had maintained that the group’s presence  will be very visible in the media henceforth, stressing that they will also rally round other youth leaders across the state to support Speaker Sheriff.

Seiyefa further explained that the group’s decision to support Oborevwori as Governor of Delta State is born out of their conviction that the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker will deliver qualitative leadership that will transform Delta to the envy of all judging from his democratic and leadership credentials. 

However, the group asserted that Oborevwori’s leadership in the Delta State House of Assembly have also led to the progress of the state, hailing him for the symbiotic relationship between the Executive and legislative arms of Government in the state.

Meanwhile, Comr. Seiyefa Ekpemupolo is a former President of the highly revered National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS).
