Selfish and incompetent leaders who are nursing the ambition to contest the Delta State governorship election in 2023 from the Ijaw nation have been asked to drop such ambition as the youths are prepared to ensure that such leaders fail.

National President of Ijaw People’s Development Initiative (IPDI) Comr. Austin Ozobo dropped the hint through a press statement issued to newsmen on Sunday, a copy of which was obtained by The Liberator Newspaper.

Ozobo said that the youths are tired of what they described as ”use and dump politics” therefor they are prepared to use every legitimate instrument available to ensure that such leaders do not get elected.

He said ”We want to state unequivocally that such greedy and selfish Ijaw leaders is the reason for the underdevelopment and poor government presence in Delta Ijaw communities”

“They want to be governors for their selfish and myopic agenda and not for the well being of Delta State. We will not allow such leaders to ascend to the seat of the governor after waisted golden opportunities and public resources which could have been used to better the lives of Ijaws and Deltans at large”

He emphasised ”we will do all we can as Ijaw Youths to stop the ambition of such selfish and dubious political leaders who want to metamorphose to the glass house as kings in 2023.”

He lamented that some leaders had turned their current appointments and elective positions to family and community affairs saying such leaders with short and myopic dreams of family and community governance were not fit to be given such bigger opportunity which had to do with the entire Deltans.
