Former minister, Niger Delta Ministry, Elder Peter Godsday Orubebe has come under fire over a comment he made recently that it is the turn of the Urhobos to produce the next Governor of Delta State. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

In a swift reaction to the endorsement of zoning by Elder Orubebe, an Ijaw Youth  leader, Comr. Ebolo Samuel, Chairman of all chairmen in Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Western Zone has tackled the former Minister, stressing that he cannot speak for the Ijaws of Delta State, describing his remarks as betrayal, reckless and anti Ijaw.

In his words “Orubebe is not the spokesman of Ijaw Nation, not yesterday, today and tomorrow hence has no moral justification to speak for us”. Ebolo stated.

Comr. Ebolo had particularly wondered on why the former minister could make such remarks when he has benefited heavily politically from being an Ijaw man, stressing that people are beginning to see him as an enemy of Ijaw nation.

Speaking further, The Western Zone IYC Chairman of all chairmen had charged Elder Orubebe to repent from betraying Ijaw nation, stressing that the former minister is of no effect to the Ijaws if he choses to pitch tenth with others.

He noted that Ijaw youths are keenly watching, adding that a day of reckoning is coming.
