Members of Eseimogbene Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has called on government and relevant authorities to come to their aid and open up the only river route to the community.

The Chairman, Eseimogbene Community Mr. Ebiarede College made the call in a chat with The Liberator Newspaper on Wednesday.

College said that the community is in urgent need of attention following the blockage on the only river route to the community by two iroko trees that fell into the river.

He noted that the river is the only way people from Warri and Bomadi local government areas can access the community but that with the blockage, the community has become inaccessible as those who manage to travel have to either push or carry their canoe with hands across the log in the river before proceeding.

He also noted that ”This river is the only root communities such as Eseimogbene, Oyangbene, Akparemogbene, Labulouseigha, Ekametagbene amongst others in Burutu and Bomadi LGAs do travel to Warri or Bomadi to transact business” He added

He lamented that the people have been cut off due to the barricade, and called on both the federal, state , local governments as well as highly spirited groups and individuals to come to the aid of the community.

The chairman particularly described the situation as unfortunately terrific, terrifying and terrible, stressing that they have been passing through this for quite some days now.

Speaking further, Mr. College had called on the Government to urgently do something positive about the issue.
