Delta: CSO’s condemns Sowore’s arrest urges President Buhari to release him

A cross section of some Civil Society Organizations on Monday condemned the arrests of Mr. Omoyele Sowore by the Department of State Security,DSS just as called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release him(Sowore) immediately.

The CSO’s made the call separately in a chat with Our Correspondent today.

The Delta State Chapter of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights,CDHR said,”We call for the unconditional release of Sowore immediately. ”

Delta State CDHR Chairman, Comrade(Dr.)Prince Kehinde Taiga said democracy is no longer between practiced in the Country.

He said instead of democracy, the Country is practicing “Cabalcracy”.

He noted that” If you’re not with the cabal, you cannot do anything.”

The Ijaw People Development Initiative,IPDI said the arrests of Sowore is barbaric and condemnable.
The group added that the President Muhammadu Buhari Government is “autocratic”

The group pointing out that Nigerians have rights to peaceful protests in line with the constitution.

IPDI National President, Comrade Austin Ozobo said the way the Country is going, there is need for a peaceful protest to tell the Government to do things right.

The Centre for Human Rights & Anti-Corruption Crusaders, CHURAC on their part said,”Our position is that, we are indifferent to the planned peaceful revolutionary protests billed to take place across the Country.”

CHURAC President, Mr. Alaowei Cleric Esq said, “Though it’s their democratic right if the concept is a peaceful protest, we reserve our position for reasons best known to us.”

Meanwhile, the revolutionary protests has ceased from holding in Warri and its environs as residents are going about their peaceful and lawful businesses.

There’s no gathering that has the colouration of a revolution at the moment in virtually all the places Our Correspondent visited.

However Security Operatives were seen on intense routine patrol possibly to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
