Delta: Ezekiel visit’s Warri north, commends Okorodudu for promoting inter ethnic unity

In continuation of his peace and security sensitization tour across the state, the Senior Special Adviser to Delta State governor on Peace building and security, Comr. Daniel Ezekiel has paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Warri North Local government, Delta State.

Comr. Ezekiel and his team were received at the council’s Secretariat by the Secretary to the Local Government Area, Engr. Victor German who represented the Local Government Council chairman, Amb. Okorodudu.

Speaking during the visit, Okorodudu said the council is ready to build a good and stronger security synergy with the special adviser to keep the council safe for all.

He told the SSA that the need for adequate security of lives and properties cannot be overemphasized especially as it affects Koko – Ugbenu road, pleading that the state government should support the Koko Vigilante team and other security agencies in the council to keep the Koko – Ugbenu road safe for motorists and other road users.

He commended the good people of Warri North for their peaceful coexistence and also highlighted some of the challenges the people are currently facing, which according to him include logistics to the interior creeks during security emergencies ”as the council is made up of 97 percent water, there is need for government to make available water crafts to evacuate people during security emergencies .” He added.

In his remarks, the SSA promised that he will take all the issues and challenges raised by the council boss to the Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

He thanked the council chairman for keeping the council safe since the beginning of the tenure in 2018, and saluted the courage of Amb, Okorodudu for uniting the two tribes that make up the council, the Ijaws and Itsekiri while promising to always open the door of communication with the council boss on a regular basis.

The meeting was well attended by administrative staffs of the council.

After leaving the meeting at Warri north local government, the SSA went into another round of meeting with management of Rail oil with Mr. John Madu leading the delegation, and Mr. John Okoro representing Nepal oil.

Both organizations lamented same challenge of bad road, saying that it is affecting their business in no small measure.

The SSA however promised to make their view known to the Governor for speedy action.
