A group of angry Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members under the aegis of aggrieved Delta Ijaw PDP members across all Ijaw speaking Local Government Areas in Delta State have written His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to as a matter of urgency fulfil his promise made to them on the 3rd of October 2019 at Government House, Asaba.

This was contained in a statement signed by Chief Richard Enaredei JP,  former vice chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State on behalf of the group after an emergency meeting held in Warri recently. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The group had in the statement narrated that they are strong hands of PDP at their various wards and Local Government Areas in Delta State, stressing that despites their contributions towards the growth and development of the party during and after elections, they have been neglected and relegated for too long from the scheme of things.

Chief Richard had in the statement narrated that due to the alleged unmerited negligence from the Government and various party leaders over time meted out on them, they registered their grievances via several fora hence Chief Frank Omare a staunch leader of the PDP in Delta State took them (the aggrieved members of PDP) to the Governor of Delta State at the Government House, Asaba on the 3rd of October 2019 where they had fruitful discussions with the Governor who promised that after the general elections, he would attend to them via appointment and contracts.

The statement continued that after that discussion they all returned back to their various wards and Local Government Areas for the election, stressing that the Governor reached out to them during the election and they all delivered on their part.

Some of the aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members include Dibi Yinkore–Burutu, Hon Oweikpodor, Warri South West, David Reje, Warri North, Chief Okiri, Warri South,  Lala Patani, Chief Richard Enarede, Bomodi and others.

However, the group said they had another meeting with the Governor on the 5th of February 2020 which was also facilitated and led by Chief Frank Omare in which their names and all other details was taken obviously for possible appointment and other political favours from the Governor.

Nevertheless, the group expressed shock that years have passed nothing has come out from the promise of the Governor and their meetings with him, stressing that they have been constrained as all available means of reaching out to the Governor has been cut off hence they are using this medium to reach the Governor for urgent attention to address  their matter as it has lingered for too long.

Meanwhile, the group had expressed disappointment over the way they have been dribbled and manipulated politically, adding that it is only normal for someone to benefit from a party he or she had worked for, stressing that they can’t continue to be left out of the Government despite their contributions.

“We are also human beings with blood flowing in our veins, even the almighty knows that we have tried our best for PDP over the years, we are beginning to believe that the party is not ready to accommodate us and the Governor despite his promises has not been able to fulfil his promise.” The statement added.
