Delta: Joy In Ogulagha Kingdom As DESOPADEC Commissions Binary Primary School Buildings

There was massive jubilation in Ogulagha Kingdom, particularly Youbebe and Okuntu communities in the Kingdom as the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) on Saturday commissioned two primary school buildings to boost education in the riverine part of the state. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The projects that was commissioned under the Chairmanship of Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives and leading aspirant vying for same position come 2023 had appreciated the entire board of DESOPADEC and His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State for investing so much in the riverine part of the state. 

While addressing the press shortly after the commissioning yesterday, Hon. Pondi had described the Delta State Oil Producing Areas  Development Commission (DESOPADEC ) under the current leadership as living up to expectations.

Speaking further, he lauded the contractors for doing a solid job, stressing that DESOPADEC as a commission deserved to be appreciated, adding that the people of Youbebe and Okuntu communities in Ogulagha  Kingdom will be so grateful to the commission for the projects. 

However, Pondi had charged the community leaderships, parents, pupils and leadership of the primary schools to take advantage of the structures, adding that not every community in Nigeria has such beautiful structures for learning, stating that it would not be nice to hear or see that in months time, the facilities inside the structures have been vandalised. 

The federal lawmaker had particularly described His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State as the most riverine friendly Governor Delta has produced so far, maintaining that DESOPADEC is this active owing to the stance of the Governor to see that riverine communities equally gets even development. 

Pondi stated that his speech will be incomplete without him appreciating the developmental efforts put in place by Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga in seeing that he contributes meaningfully towards the growth and development of his people, maintaining that he is very proud of him as history has a good place for Agediga. 

Meanwhile, the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) team was represented by the Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Amb. Dr. Comr. Shedrack Agediga who while handing over the projects to the communities asserted that DESOPADEC recognises the communities as key communities in its mandate areas hence the projects. 

Agediga assured  oil bearing communities in Delta State that the commission will continue to execute projects in its mandate areas, adding that the people should expect more as the commission is poised to do more for them.

The superlative ED, PRS DESOPADEC also appreciated the people for their cooperation since the inauguration of the current board, stating that the commission is really doing a lot for the oil bearing communities and her people. 

It would be recalled that the commissioned projects include upgrade and construction of six classroom block building at Youbebe and a furnished  three classroom block building  at Okuntu.
