Delta: Joy In Ogulagha Kingdom As SAF Distributes Massive Food Items To Communities – The Liberator

As King Agbonu Extols Agediga’s leadership

There is apparent joy in the entire Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State as Chairman of the Shedrack Agediga Foundation, Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga distributed massive foodstuffs worthing millions of naira to communities constituting the kingdom.

Amb. Agediga who doubles as the Executive Director (ED), Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) led other members of SAF to embark on the journey earlier today.

Agediga, a man described by different quarters in Delta as a shining leader worthy of emulation and his team presented the massive food items to His Royal Majesty, Elder Capt. Joseph I. Timiyan (JP), Torububou I, Agbonu, the paramount ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area at his royal mansion, Obotobo I community who later directed notable chiefs in the kingdom to get in touch with all the community leaderships in the kingdom for onward distribution.

Before presenting the food items, Amb. Agediga who was entertained by the golden king of Ogulagha Kingdom had in the palace appreciated the paramount ruler for his developmental strides over the years, stressing that God shall continue to guid and protect him for long life and prosperity.

Speaking further, Agediga maintained that though there is currently an arrangement among some political appointees in the Local Government to which he is part of and his contribution made already among others for the buying and distribution of food items to communities in the Local Government, he explained that due to the largeness of the council, such items when shared across the communities may not be enough for his people, hence he decided to make another arrangement personally for the people of Ogulagha Kingdom to at least cushion the effect of the lockdown occasioned by the dreaded and ravaging Covid – 19 pandemic in the state.

Agediga noted that Covid-19 is real, adding that no one should event self made theory of its non existent, noting that sons and daughters of the kingdom must adhere to the safety measures aimed at curtailing it from spreading by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The SAF boss noted that as a true son of Ogulagha Kingdom, considering the hard time his people are also facing, he can’t turn his back against them as this is the time to show love to the people.

It would be recalled that SAF had earlier spent millions of naira in buying and distributing of face masks, liquid soaps, hand sanitizers, tap buckets, buckets and other sensitive preventive materials that was distributed to Ogulagha, Iduwini and Obotebe kingdoms in Burutu Local Government Area.

Amb. Shedrack Agediga explained that this is the phase two of the Organizations humanitarian gesture, maintaining that SAF will continue to do all within its powers to ensure that the vulnerable, elderly and the disadvantaged is assisted in one form or the other.

In his words: “Although as a political appointee in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, i have contributed my financial task to the Local Government for the buying and sharing of food items across the council among other politicians, SAF is a different entity, hence we are doing this for our people”.

However, in his swift response, the golden king of Ogulagha Kingdom, Agbonu had extolled the leadership qualities of Shedrack Agediga for his leadership qualities, stressing that he was not expecting such massive food items from Agediga again after recently dolling millions for satety kits across the kingdom could come up with another more sophisticated arrangement for the people.

Agbonu speaking among other things while praising and praying for Agediga noted that when he is happy, he speaks less, hence he is proud of the DESOPADEC ED as an illustrious son of the kingdom.

The traditional ruler said everyone in the kingdom is happy with Agediga with his rare humanitarian activities over time, wondering on what is motivating the leading Niger Delta humanitarian for his gestures in the kingdom and beyond.

Torububou had particularly wondered that Ogulagha Kingdom has people that are by far richer than Agediga but are yet to do anything tangible in ameliorating the sufferings of the people in such a hard time.

He particularly releases royal blessings to Amb. Agediga to succeed in whatever he intends to achieve in life.

“What you are doing for our kingdom today has never happened before, I am so happy, when I am extremely happy, I have less words to say, whatever you intend to achieve in life, God shall make it work for you.

“I don’t know where you derived your inspiration for this humanitarian gesture, but God shall bless you. The entire kingdom is happy for you.

“It is God that is giving you this vision, God must surely provide for you. To me, you did similar thing during my uncelebrated birthday here in this palace, you brought things which I personally think that with that it is enough.

“But seeing you coming with another set of relief materials, makes me wonder on what sort of man are you.” The Ogulagha King stated.

Meanwhile, Agbonu directed the duo of double chiefs Felix Ebah, Peter Ikiyegha to be in charge of reaching out to the leaderships of the various communities, constituting the kingdom for onward distribution.

Shortly after the official presentation of the items to the chiefs, Ebah who addressed the press expressed joy over the development, adding that Agediga is making the kingdom proud, stating that what Agediga has done will be a landmark history for generations in the kingdom.

The food items include bags of rice, buckets of starch, bags of garri, bags of tapioka, bags of beans, cartons of indomie noodles, cartons of ice fish, tubers of yams, sacks of salts as well as gallons of palm oil.

Earlier in an interview with the press while responding to questions filed by journalists, Agediga has called on all political appointees, businessmen and well meaning individuals to remember the people at this trying time, adding that whatever they do will go a long way in ameliorating the sufferings of the people.

Agediga also called on Deltans to obey the 14 days lockdown extension in the State by the Governor of the state, adding that the decision is for the best interest of Deltans.

It would be recalled that after performing his primary duty of presenting the food items for the king who mandated his chiefs to distribute the items, Agediga as a grassroot leader took a walk by visiting friends, the aged and other community leaders in Sokebolou, his hometown what charitable givings and his movement around the town shows his capacity as a good leader.

Meanwhile, the massive food items where conveyed from Warri to Obotobo I community with a ferry local boat.
