Self styled Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Yeye Community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Goodluck Joel has appealed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders of DSIEC ward 18, Burutu Local Government Area to allow them produce the next councillor in the ward.

Mr. Goodluck Joel made the call yesterday via a statement issued to newsmen in Warri signed by him, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers.

The Chief Security Officer frowned at the treatment meted out on the people of Yeye Community since the ward was created, stressing that the political alienation and disparity calls for great concern.

He continued that despite contributing so much for the ward with huge voting strength and other vital contributions for the growth and development of the PDP, the people are yet to have a taste of the councillor position.

Speaking further, Joel maintained that it was agreed on the last Councillorship election in Burutu Local Area among leaders of the party in the ward that the councillor position will be alternating, stating that after the current councillor from Burutu, it will alternate to Yeye Community in the ward.

The Yeye Youth leader had particularly appealed to the ward leaders to obey and respect the pact of Yeye producing the next councillor, adding that any attempt to do otherwise will be resisted by all means by the people of Yeye Community.

In his words: “If we are brothers, we can’t be treated as political slaves in ward 18, power should be alternating among the brotherhood, we are one hence we should be allowed to produce the next councillor “.

Meanwhile, Goodluck Joel had also decried the level of underdevelopment in Yeye community, stressing that gigantic tidal waves is eroding Yeye as he called on the Delta State Government, NDDC and other relevant agencies to come to their aid.
