Delta politians urged to be futuristic in grooming young leaders
The grassroot leader made the call over the weekend in Orhuwhorun in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State.
Albert had particularly noted that some leaders have failed woefully by not empowering their followers, stressing that such tendency remains a bad omen to a progressive leadership.
He had further urged politians to prioritize the empowerment of their followers as future leaders, noting that it will come a time when true leaders will be measured by the number of followers they have made to become leaders.
However, Mr. Edumogiren had also used the medium to congratulate the duo of Governor Okowa and his deputy for their reelection.
Meanwhile, he had congratulated all the People’s Democratic Party, PDP canditates in Burutu Local Government Area that emerged victorious during the elections.
In his words: “Is high time leaders listen to the yearnings of their followers. According to JOHN C Maxwell “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way”. Our leaders should be futuristic in grooming followers that will take over from them when they retired.
“Leaders should develop empathy with their followers. But, is quite unfortunate that most leaders follow a dictatorial style and has neglected empathy altogether and which is not healthy. And due to this, they have failed to make a closer connection with their followers.
“Understanding the pains,feelins and problems of your followers should be paramount. You will only be measured with how many lives you have made.
“On this note, I am calling on all leaders to do the needful.
“Let me as well use this medium to congratulate his Excellency senator Dr Ifeany Okowa and the deputy governor Barr Kinsley B Otuaro for their reelection.. And to consolidate on the good works they have started in the riverine communities.
” I am as well congratulating all PDP candidates that emerge victorious in Burutu Local Government Area”.
