Chairman of the Delta South Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme has vowed that he will work together with his executive members and other critical stakeholders in the senatorial district to ensure that his leadership is all inclusive.
Chief Takeme had particularly harped on unity as a pancea for the growth and development of any system, stressing the continued engagement of party leaders and faithfuls will be paramount under his watch.
Takeme, often described as a political tactician by his associates made the vow yesterday at the PDP secretariat during its inaugural meeting attended by members of his executive as well as the various council PDP chairmen of the eight local Government councils that constitutes the Delta South senatorial district.
According to him, ‘‘ We have done this before in different leadership roles and we did well. So, this is not the first time in running a political party to bring success to the party. I will ensure my doors are open, my phone lines are open 24 hours to all exco members, PDP council chairmen as well as party leaders and supporters.’’
“We as a party, our unity is paramount and hard work which will bring the desired victory in 2023. We will pay a courtesy visit to leaders of the party at both senate, house of representatives as well as members of the Delta State House of Assembly from the district so as to identify with them and see how the party could be repositioned ahead of a greater task. You all know that Delta state is a clear PDP state and that will not discourage us from putting our house intact against 2023’’ he said.
While responding on behalf of the other executive members, Secretary of PDP Delta South, Mr. John Okorolotor and Women leader Tripple Chief (Mrs) Vero Tambowei Emmanuel expressed gratitude to God and the party leadership for appointing another grassroot man to lead the party to greatness.
It would be recalled that Chief Takeme is the immediate past commisioner for Urban Renewal, Delta State.
