Delta:Gov’t to address indiscrimate parking by tanker drivers on NPA high way – The Liberator

The Delta state commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emman Ambgaduba and his Transport counterpart, Hon. Engr. Oviemuno Oghoore on yesteday (Thursday) met with some stakeholders in the petroleum and gas industry with a view to finding lasting solution to the menace of indiscriminate packing by tanker drivers on the NPA express high way.

The meeting which was held in Delta State government House annex in Warri with other top government representatives in attendance was also to examine some of the challenges faced by the various Unions and to brainstorm on best ways to address them.

Addressing the petroleum stakeholders at the meeting, Amgbaduba told them that the state governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is working hard to achieve a safe and stronger Delta for everyone.

While aasuring them that Okowa is strongly committed to safe and friendly environment for those in the petroleum and gas industry, he appealed to them to give all necessary support and cooperate with the state government so as to get more benefits that will improve and enhance their operations.

In their reaction, the tanker drivers appealed to the Commissioners of both Transportation and oil/Gas to clear the Motor park under the bridge at Ekpan as they usually find it difficult to turn because of the crowdy nature of buses and tricycles in the area.

At the end of the meeting, the Commissioners took time to visit the effurun Tank park located at Niger Cat, Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

They visited the office of the Chairman Petroleum Tanker Drivers- PTD, Comr. Sunday Okopie and that of Deputy Chairman Evang. Napoleon Ogunu and also use the visit to inspect some ongoing adminstrative building projects in the park.

Members of NUPENG, PTD, and Tank Farm Owners were some stakeholders that attended the meeting.
