DESOPADEC: Ogulagha kingdom converge at Sokebolou for Agediga’s home coming

Charity they say begins at home as the people of Oil rich Ogulagha kingdom filed out in their numbers to give a rowdy welcome to Amb. Shedrack Agediga, Executive Director, ED, Planning, Research and Statistics, PRS, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

It was a thing of joy yesterday in Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State as the people demonstrated unprecedented love to their own Amb. Shedrack Agediga on the occasion of his home coming.

Yesterday’s visit to Sokebolou his home town in Ogulagha kingdom marks his coming to home after he was given the DESOPADEC Executive Director, ED appointment some weeks ago by the Delta State Government.

Upon setting his foot on Sokebolou community with his mammoth supporters, songs of victory and endless jubilation from women, youths and men had already lined up in a dance precession to accompany Agediga to the Beautiful Gate Zion Church in Sokebolou.

In showing unprecedented humility, Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency also accompanied Agediga to Sokebolou, it would be recalled that Sokebolou is also the home town of the Burutu Federal lawmaker.

At the Beautiful Gate Zion Church in Sokebolou, there was ceaseless encomiums showered on Agediga and Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency on their shining leadership in the Delta state politics.

Particularly, Snr. Bonerge Steve Okwanze had in his message described the duo as leaders that must be emulated in Ogulagha kingdom and beyond.

“I am very happy that upon his home coming, his first point of call was the church, it means that he knows that God deed all things for him.

“The two of you will continue to climb the ladder of politics, continue to soar high like eagles, you will become governors of this state, you will become ministers, you people will grow to develop Sokebolou community and Ogulagha Kingdom in general. Carry the upcoming ones along.” Snr. Bonerge Steve.

Agediga had in his response stated that he is a son of Zion, stressing that he is a product of the church.

“I thank God for what he did for me, I cannot forget Ogulagha Kingdom and my community, God is truly great, I am son of Zion, I was born here, I can’t come home without first coming to the church.

“My life has been miraculous, it has been one miracle to the other, please the church should greet the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the deputy governor of Delta state, Barr. (Dcn) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu federal constituency and all those that worked to ensure that my appointment becomes a reality. God made it but he does it through people.” Agediga stated.

While promising to provide all the windows and doors for the Beautiful Gate Zion Church building in Sokebolou, enjoined the church to continue to pray for him as he discharge his duty as ED, DESOPADEC.

Agediga, one of the most celebrated leader in Delta State had also noted that there is reward in loyalty and commitment, adding that he is a product of loyalty and commitment.

“Loyalty and commitment pays, there is gain in loyalty and commitment” Agediga noted.

He said he will continue to liase with the commissioner representing the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality and other board members of DESOPADEC in ensuring that Ogulagha kingdom and other oil producing kingdoms gets what they deserves from the commission.
