Despites Economic Downturn, Pondi Eddy Foundation Continues Payment Of Scholarship To Beneficiaries – The Liberator
The outstanding bills to the beneficiaries were particularly cleared on the 10th of May, 2020 with beneficiaries expressing and pouring varying encomiums on the humanitarian Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Pondi Eddy Foundation.
Recall that the educational support scheme of the foundation was initiated in the 2017/2018 academic session with seven (7) undergraduates from Ogulagha Kingdom, and 3 from Gbaramatu Kingdom.
In a statement made available to newsmen by Comr. Victor Isereke, Secretary of the Pondi Eddy Foundation revealed that the 10 beneficiaries included 7 University Scholarships and 3 Polytechnic Scholarships.
Comr. Isereke also revealed that the Foundation is prepared to reel out new programmes in the coming months to support education in the Niger Delta region.
When contacted, a beneficiary of the scholarship scheme, Miss Preye Guwor, a Petroleum Engineering student of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun expressed her profound gratitude to the Pondi Eddy Foundation.
Miss Guwor stressed that the fifty thousand (50,000) Naira yearly scholarship was a major source of financial support through her educational pursuit, praying that the Almighty God should continue to bless Sir Eddy Pondi immensely.
