Double celebration rocked the household of Engr. Michael Tonlagha in Warri, Delta State as he bagged Niger Delta Icon Of Hope Personality Award from the Ijaw entertainment forum on his birth anniversary celebration yesterday.
While presenting the award to the Gbaramatu born Niger Delta philanthropist, Engr. Michael Tonlagha, Prince Karenade Abioka, popularly known as Niger Delta prince of talk who doubles as the worldwide president of the Ijaw Entertainment Forum noted that the enourmous contributions of Engr. Tonlagha towards the growth and development of the region stands him out for the award.
The Niger Delta prince of talk asserted that the Ijaw Entertainment Forum like the name implies is not a political appendage of anyone but a revered body made off Ijaw entertainers, ranging from musicians, comedians, masters of ceremony, dancers as well as actors and actresses.
Abioka maintained that the award was a token and a deep appreciation from the Ijaw entertainment forum to reward a man that have toiled and has assisted people to grow even at his discomfort.
He particularly charged Engr. Michael to sustain his good deeds, stressing that the world has a way of always blessing those that have become a blessing to society, adding that such persons usually receive uncommon reward from the Lord Almighty the giver of everything in life.
Speaking further, Karenade avered that the Ijaw entertainment forum will continue to look into the lives of Niger Deltans to reward those that have distinguished themselves by adding meaning to humanity.
Tonlagha is truely a man to reckon with in Niger Delta – Egbema Queen
While presenting the award to Engr. Michael Tonlagha, the beauty Queen of Egbema Kingdom in Warri North Local government Area of Delta State, Mss Preyelove Soroghaye had described the recipient as a man that have served and still serving Niger Delta and the Ijaw nation very well.
She noted that Tonlagha is truely a man to reckon with in Niger Delta and beyond, praying that he shall never anything in life.
The Egbema Kingdom beauty Queen stressed that Niger Delta would have been a better place if only it is inhabited by people like Michael Tonlagha.

In his acceptance speech during the award presentation ceremony at his Warri residence, Michael pointed out that the Ijaw Entertainment Forum Award and others within and outside the Niger Delta region that he has received so far will spour him to do more.
He however, dedicated the Niger Delta Icon of Hope Personality Award from the Ijaw entertainment forum to the Lord Almighty for being there for him and his family during his good and ugly times.
“I want to thank everyone for coming, especially my wife, she is tolerant, it is said that behind every man there is a good woman. I also have challenges, you have to be close to God, I was surprised when I received the call for this award.
“Let us be patient, patient is the key to life, we are not really from a golden family but God has done his works in my life. I want to thank everyone for coming to attend my ceremony, God will uplift everyone of you for coming.” Engr. Michael Tonlagha stated.
Tonlagha’s award by the Ijaw entertainment forum is well deserving – Ekpemupolo
On his part, Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo, leader of the Niger Delta Coalition Voices described the award presented to Engr. Tonlagha as a well deserving one, stressing that his love towards students and stretching helping hands to the needy in the society is not in doubt.
The legal practitioner opined that though awards these days are fast becoming rampant but noted that the award from the Ijaw entertainment forum under the progressive leadership of the Niger Delta prince of talk, Mc Abioka Karenade is something that is worth celebrating.
It would be recalled that the celebration was double as the award presentation coincided with the birth anniversary of the recipient.
In spicing up the occasion, Ijaw firebrand masters of ceremony cum comedians like Mc B Delight, Mc Tombra with the host of others stormed the ceremony with rib breaking jokes.
The event was well attended by highly rated personalities from Gbaramatu Kingdom and others across the Niger Delta region.
