Easter Sunday: Gbaramatu Youth Council To Celebrate Tompolo At Oporoza With Cultural Dance Competition

Apex youth body in Gbaramatu Kingdom under the aegis of Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) has dolled out a whopping sum of #1.5m on cultural dance competition to mark the 50th birth anniversary celebration of High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and the generalissimo of the Niger Delta struggle for emancipation. The disclosure was made yesterday at Oporoza, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State by the president general of GYC, Comr. Shadrach Onitsha via a statement, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide. 

The revered youth president of Gbaramatu Kingdom noted  that the entire youths and other special personalities will be celebrating Tompolo’s birth anniversary at the royal pavilion in Oporoza, traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom on April 4th 2021 being Easter Sunday.

Comr. Shadrach Onitsha  maintained that while the dance competition would feature different cultural dancers from communities constituting Gbaramatu Kingdom on Sunday April 4th, first prize will go home with the sum of #700,000,00 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira).

He continued that those who would come out second and third positions would also go home with the sum of #500,000,00 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) and #300,000,00 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira) respectively. 

Meanwhile, the GYC president  maintained that the programme would be anchored solely by Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC), being the apex youth body in the kingdom. 

Speaking further, president of GYC, Comr. Onitsha Shadrach who was accompanied  by Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo, Speaker Gbaramatu Mobile Youth Parliament  had assured the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom  that he will use his office as president to mobilise people from the various communities in the Kingdom to heavily participate in the programme, adding that Tompolo has done more than enough to deserve any kind of celebration. 

Comr. Onitsha Shadrach had particularly appreciated Tompolo  on his philantropic gestures, stressing that Gbaramatu Kingdom, Ijaw nation and Niger Delta is proud of him for his selfless and humanitarian services over the years, praying that the Lord Almighty shall continue to increase him financially and otherwise to continue to do good for the human race. 

The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report that the entire Ijaw nation will on the 12th of April 2021 celebrate Tompolo’s birth anniversary being his date of birth.
